On March 8, Burt’s Bees and Michele, 29, will officially kick off the Bring Back The Bees campaign on urtsees.com. The initiative is not only to raise awareness about the decrease in number of bees and pollinators, but to help rebuild a nourishing habitat for them.

In the campaign Michele stands amid a “field” of wildflowers, which bees rely on to thrive, and which is being threatened by the changing environment. “I think this is an issue that a lot of people may not be educated on, so I wanted to help make people aware of it,” says the Scream Queens star of being tapped to help spread the word.

Michele, who’s “obsessed” with the brand’s pink-grapefruit-flavor lip balm, is particularly “excited” about its limited edition launch to support the effort. For each #BringBackTheBees lip balm (flavors include Coconut & Pear, Pink Grapefruit and Wild Cherry) purchased, the Burt’s Bees’ Greater Good Foundation, in partnership with other organizations, will plant 1,000 wildflower seeds.

Burt’s Bees has also created a social initiative to get bee lovers involved. For every tweet or Instagram you post missing the letter “B” in the caption — and including the hashtag #BringBackTheBees — 1,000 wildflower seeds will be planted in your name.

The project felt “organic” for Michele, whose long sworn by the brand’s products, including their Radiance Body Lotion, which we’re betting is the source of her glowy legs in the campaign.
