Adele Says 'Goodbye' to Black in Flowy Red Gown on the 2016 Brit Awards Red Carpet
Adele may be the master of the major impression. Whether it’s going off the grid for five years only to re-emerge and drop one of the biggest albums of all time, stunning audiences night after night with her powerhouse voice, or rolling up to the red carpet in a statement-making Giambattista Valli gown unlike any we’ve seen on her so far this awards season, she never does things halfway.
The singer, who is slated to perform an all-star David Bowie tribute tonight alongside Rihanna, Coldplay and Justin Bieber, showed up to the awards ceremony wearing a customized flowing burgundy Giambattista gown replete with diaphanous layers of sheer fabrics and ruffles throughout the skirt and sleeves inspired by a look from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
Though it’s in line with Adele’s retro-glam aesthetic, it is a major departure for her on an awards show red carpet, where you’re much more likely to see her in a fitted, full-length black gown — although she has been working red into her wardrobe little by little.

While there’s plenty to discuss about this look, we have to give the Best British Female nominee props for her next level dedication to coordination down to the last detail. Who else but Adele would have the foresight to flawlessly match her lipstick to the exact shade of her gown and her nails to her iconic winged eyeliner. Now that you’ve seen the singer rock the Brits red carpet, you may now resume weeping while listening to 25 for the umpteenth time.
Are you loving the look for her?
