Ashley Graham Named 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie, Already Having the Best Month Ever

02/09/2016 at 10:51 AM ET

We’re only nine days into February, and while most of us are still struggling to stick to at least one of our New Year’s resolutions, 2016 already looks poised to be the year of Ashley Graham who is undeniably having the best month ever.

The plus-size supermodel has already helped smash stereotypes and advance the body positivity movement with her outspoken position on self-love and acceptance, posing for lingerie lines, athletic wear brands, and becoming the one of the first plus-size models (alongside Robyn Lawley) to be featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. And now she’s  breaking down all-new barriers, scoring the coveted role as a 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie (on stands Feb. 15 and set to be revealed in a Feb. 13 TV special!).

But that’s not all. Aside from giving us even more body envy with her second spread in SI, Graham has also landed four campaigns this month alone, serving as the face for Addition Elle’s latest sportswear collection, NYDJ’s “Fit to Be” campaign, and swimsuitsforall‘s inspiring, new #SwimSexy campaign that will also be featured in the SI 2016 Swimsuit issue. Additionally, she will star in Lane Bryant’s latest campaign, #ThisBody, which is meant to be, “a call to action for women to challenge social conventions, to declare what her body CAN do.”

Considering Ashley seems to land every single job that comes her way, surely a Vogue cover can’t be too far behind.

Are you excited to see Ashley Graham’s next Sports Illustrated Swimsuit spread? What campaign would you like to see her do next?

She’s so beautiful

First Playboy turns into Maxim and now this… sad times indeed.

@WG on

You suck.

F’n body positiv nonsense. I don’t care how you spin it to make it all self empowering. She’s fat. Period. I don’t celebrate heart disease and no self control to put a twinkie down.

your name should be trash

Jennifer on

I love it how some people act like she is super fat. They are probably fat themselves.

Katie on

She’s photoshopped! Look at other pictures of her; she has stretch marks and cellulite. This is not helping the body positive movement because that’s not what her body looks like in real life.

She never denied that, she even talked about stretch marks etc. Sports Illustrated uses photoshop all the time.

Shouldn’t your name be Trash?
