Kendall Jenner Is Going by Just 'Kendall' Now, Thank You

Cindy. Twiggy. Naomi. Iman. Gisele. Kendall. (Record scratch.) Wait, when did Kendall Jenner join the pantheon of one-named diva models? We’ve got more questions than answers, but according to the casting sheet from her modeling agency, the 18-year-old catwalker will now be known by just her first name.

Racked spotted the noteworthy name drop on The Society Management’s website, which not only has her mono-monikered on its homepage, but on her standalone portfolio page as well. Other Society Management supermodels, including Liu Wen, Lindsey Wixson and Adriana Lima, continue to go by both names, but Kendall appears ready to distance herself from her famous family — a sentiment she’s expressed before.

“People think that this [success] just came to me. But it didn’t. What I have has almost worked against me,” Jenner told LOVE magazine. “I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn’t take me seriously as a model … I went on castings and some people weren’t feeling me because of my name. But it was great when people didn’t recognize me. I was like, ‘Thank you. Please don’t recognize me.'”

We don’t know if this whole “Drop the Jenner” schtick will work considering the success of her TV show and her prolific and significant Instagram presence, but we’ve got to hand it to her: She’s working all her angles, like a true model.

What do you think of her dropping her last name for work? Which fashion shows will she walk in September?

She is NOT a Kardashian she IS a Jenner! Ridiculous. Why is this news?

This family is extremely narcissistic. We should expect this kind of behavior.

WHO CARES! Really Kendall. WHO CARES!

It doesn’t matter what name she goes by. Kendall or Kendall Jenner. She’s still the next tramp of the family and a “nobody” that no one wants to hear about. We all know you’re the daughter of a pathetic mother and a wimp of a father. not to mention the sister of the queen of all “ho’s”, Kim. Now go away.

My dog goes by his first name also. That’s a good boy Fido!

Why would the writer say he has more questions than answers when he opened the article citing other models who have done the same thing? Just looking for drama.

This girl’s modeling career only happened because of the family connection. There are hoards of gorgeous young woman who try to make it in the modeling industry but fail because they have no way in.Kendall had doors pushed and shoved open fror her all along the way. She has no clue what it would be like to actually work to establish herself. Models like Gisele, Naomi, Cindy all still use their last names. We recognize them by a first name because they have become well established over a long period of time in the industry. Kendall Jenner has been raised in the tradition of a truly narcassistic family.

that´s bs. she didn’t had to work harder than a regular girl to get into the high fashion world, of course all was easyer for her, her mom is a manager and her sisters are famous.
a normal girl would have to work 1000 times more than her to get there, even in an episode of kuwtk, her sister kim gets her a modeling coach and she starts acting like a diva and run away becouse she didn’t want to practice modeling and runway.
