What We're Buying: Lots of Jewelry and the Best Backyard Accessory Ever

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, we’ve been inspired to add some new jewelry to our collections. Plus, the one candle you need to bring as a gift to your next barbecue!

Lisa Hoffman beaded scented barceletsCourtesy Andrea Lavinthal

Andrea Lavinthal, Style and Beauty Director: I recently had the pleasure of sitting next to perfumer Lisa Hoffman at a dinner. Several years ago, she received vintage earrings as a birthday present from her husband Dustin (yes, as in Dustin Hoffman). Inside each earring was a hidden gem, which inspired Lisa to create her own line of jewelry with tiny fragrance-infused beads hidden inside each piece that subtly diffuse the scent. “I wanted to encourage people to wear fragrance their way,” she told me. After a few glasses of wine and an epic cookie platter, I’m now wearing a few colorful bracelets that I “borrowed” from Lisa’s wrist, including her latest creation, “Brazilian Begonia”, which features gorgeous blue beads and a gold ball that houses the most incredible scent of lemon lime, sandalwood, amber and vanilla (out in October). My other favorite: the purple “Kerala Ashok Garden” bracelet, which features a blend of violet, pear, apricot and jasmine.

Aromaflage candleCourtesy Zoë Ruderman

Zoë Ruderman, Deputy Style and Beauty Director: Humblebrag comin’ atcha: I moved to an apartment with a backyard earlier this year and the mosquitos have been a problem. The brand behind my favorite all-natural, good-smelling, DEET-free bug spray recently came out with a candle version. It has a nice scent (read: it’s not citronella) and feels more like a pretty bathroom candle than a clunky outdoors one. Now the BBQs end when we run out of burgers and beers, not when people are so eaten alive that they have to call it a night.

Vida necklace and earringsCourtesy Elizabeth and James

Loni Venti, Style and Beauty Editor: I love jewelry that looks delicate and classic at a glance — but has a twist upon further inspection. So when I spotted these new “Vida” ear cuffs and matching necklace from Elizabeth and James (both $175), they went straight on my fall shopping list. The sprinkling of white topaz adds just enough sparkle to dress up jeans and a tee or to edge up your office attire. I’d never wear them together of course, but I love them both too much to decide on one! How cute is it to have XX (how we all sign off our love notes and flirty text messages! Kisses!) floating around our neck or ear lobes? Plus, XX is roman numeral twenty and my last name is Venti (Italian for twenty), so the universe is basically insisting that I bust out my credit card and bag these babies ASAP — amiright?

Those fragrance bracelets sound great, but where can I get those gorgeous rings Andrea is wearing???
