Wimbledon 2014 Style in the Stands: A Comprehensive Guide Brought to You by Kate, the Beckhams and More!

07/07/2014 at 12:16 PM ET

While we spent most of the weekend shoreside in a tee and cutoffs, stars were sporting their classiest style courtside at Wimbledon. From the perennial put-together royals to crazy-stylish couples to the big winner’s well-suited fashion moment, we compiled a go-to playbook for the best fashion moments at Britain’s big match — just in case, you know, you end up scoring an invite to the royal box next year.

1. Colorful Dress + Blowout = Style Ace
The Duchess of Cambridge‘s look — a recycled blue-and-green Jonathan Saunders design — didn’t surprise us, but we have to say it was the perfect frock to wear to the Men’s Finals. It was breezy, the fun pattern photographed well and she looks killer in those colors. (Not to mention, it complemented her husband’s dapper suit nicely.)

2. Dress Up Your Dude : It’s hard to compete with Will and Kate, but these couples were up to the challenge. David and Victoria Beckham (let’s be honest, they’re British royalty in their own right) continued their anniversary celebration at the Men’s Finals in coordinating looks — a colorful striped Victoria Beckham dress on Posh and a navy double-breasted blazer, white shirt, printed tie and chinos (all Ralph Lauren) on Becks. Also in the running for chicest couple: Suki Waterhouse, doing her supermodel thing in a white embroidered crop top and matching printed skirt by Alberta Ferretti, while her beau Bradley Cooper went for a dark navy three-piece suit and striped tie. And Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth had a day date away from their three young children, sporting polka-dot LBD and blue suit, respectively.

3. Sunglasses Are a Very Important Accessory: If you want to always look great without a filter, a cute pair of shades are the secret. Orlando Bloom and Kate Beckinsale clearly got the memo.

4. Guys, Think Skinny Ties: He couldn’t shave his Pan pirate beard, but that didn’t stop Hugh Jackman from bringing the heat in his on-trend gray suit and slim tie.

5. Dress Like a Champ: Novak Djokovic won the trophy over Roger Federer in his Uniqlo tennis whites, and then made sure to show up to the Winners’ Ball in a perfectly tailored Burberry tux, complete with a white pocket square. Well-played all around.

Yeah….well if we all had their incomes, we’d look pretty damned good too! :/

While I otherwise love her classic style, I feel as though Duchess Catherine is becoming borderline boring. I’m not against “recycling” her wardrobe, but I really wish she’d do something different as far as styling (maybe slightly change her hairstyle or her makeup). If I could give out awards for best dressed, I’d give them to Kate Beckinsale and Hugh Jackman.

What people don’t understand is that Kate’s dress is really covered in little tennis courts ;).

Suki and Bradley look like father & daughter, every time I see them photographed together I wonna throw up. Disturbing! Something’s wrong!

Not digging Bradley Cooper’s girlfriend. Disappointed that went the clichéd 20-something model route.

I think Victoria Beckham looks beautiful in that dress. So cute! I wish the Duchess of Cambridge wore a little less makeup – she looks like she’s covering something up, rather than accentuating.

While some of you may think the Duchess is ‘boring’ you need to keep in mi nd the role she has – she may not have as much freedom and self-choice in what she wears at certain events…This is an event seen by millions around the world and it may require something conservative in nature – don’t forget what the “firm” did to Diana and her wardrobe…and it took the divorce before she cold really be herself…the Duchess may simply be playing it safe for a reason…
