Gwyneth Paltrow Is 'So Excited' for Blo Bar Partnership, Says Hairstylist David Babaii

If you ever brought a photo of Gwyneth Paltrow‘s sleek, shiny straight strands to the salon and asked for a similar blowout, you’re going to be really excited about the actress’s new endeavor — a partnership with Blo Bar and celebrity hair stylist David Babaii.

Babaii and Paltrow have been enlisted to help “direct a new creative vision” for Blo — the first blowdry bar in the U.S. which will soon open its 50th global location. The longtime friends have worked together on hair-related endeavors before (creating a private blowdry salon for members of Tracy Anderson’s studio) but now they are ready — and really revved up — to take their “blow” on the road.

“Their entire team is the coolest you’ll ever meet. I am just so excited and so is Gwyneth,” Babaii tells PEOPLE. “I get to work with someone that’s been my dear friend and inspiration for so many years. How much better can it get? Gwyneth is so smart and cool and we work so well together. We’ve been friends for 12 years, and she’s been such a support to me with everything. When we opened our first blow dry bar with Tracy Anderson, it was for members only, but there was overwhelming demand.”

Babaii plans to add new techniques and looks to the menu — and can’t wait to learn from the stylists in the Blo salons. But just don’t ask him to pick a favorite style. “I love them all,” he says of the existing looks. “Every single one of them is cool. I’ve done them all. I’ve done the braid on Nicole Kidman, the big bun on Sarah Jessica Parker.”

On his must list? “I want to do the beachy waves, the soft styles and I want to learn. I’ve gone to the blow bars and watched them and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, how did that guy get that root lift?’ So I am looking forward to that, the opportunity to watch other people work,” he says — though he’s got one end goal in mind: “I want [the customer] to feel like they’re the princess that moment.”

Paltrow has been keeping very busy professionally since announcing her split from Chris Martin earlier this year. She opened a GOOP pop-up shop, and now will be helping woman across the country better their blowouts. What changes do you want to see Paltrow and Babaii bring to Blo? Should they add new styles to the menu? Share your thoughts below.

Why would anyone want hair like hers? Color damaged, dry and thin. Yuck!!

First GOOP and now BLO. What will she think of next? This woman cracks me up.

“Woman” is not the same as “Women”

Blo blow dry bars are extremely popular in Canada. For those that don’t know, Gwen is coming on to an already established franchise.
The way it works is you pay about $30 and get a blow out in about 30 minutes. They have a hair menu, with styles like sleek pony (for job interview) or sex kitten blow out.
You can go in with a group of friends and all get worked on at the same time while drinking champagne and eating chocolates. It’s loads of fun.
It’s disappointing Gwen joined this company, I hope she doesnt bring them down.

Gwyneth has such beautiful hair and the color is so gorgeous on her. I am so excited about her new venture. Count me in.

Aww – you poor jealous women…………..

Pam on

What’s there to be jealous of? She’s a narcissistic ugly woman.

The partnership will last until Mr. Babaii doesn’t agree with Ms. Paltrow dietary rules for the business and they are ‘consciously uncoupled’.

Erica – $30 is not bad. It is about $48 + tip in New York City. If BLO offers $30 blow-out, I’ll definitely go every few weeks. Gwyneth is a great actress with singing and dancing talent. She seems interested in investing her fortune into more businesses, but not like Angie or other celebs who build business for less fortunate people or environment. Hope she will do something better with her money. Kind of interesting before Chris Martin was married to her, he was a big supporter for Fair Trade etc. But Gwyneth seems she is all about her and not so compassionate to people who are not fortunate as she has been.

Who in their right mind would want a hair style like hers? Unattractive if you ask me.
