Has Kate Hudson Set a Wedding Date? She Says 'Soon!'

Kate Hudson has a lot on her plate right now. She’s modeling and designing for Ann Taylor and her own athletic line, Fabletics. She just launched a collection of sunglasses with Chrome Hearts. She’s got two kids, Ryder, 10, and Bingham, 2, whom she’s raising all over the globe. If she didn’t have time to plan a wedding, well, we can’t say we’d be surprised. But Hudson reveals that her nuptials to Matthew Bellamy are imminent — and you can start getting the rice ready.

“Sooner rather than later!” she confirms in the latest issue of The Editorialist, for which she was interviewed about the new sunglasses line. She collaborated with longtime friend Laurie Stark on 11 pairs of shades, retailing for $850 each, which carry names like “Eye So Sassy” and are inspired by a few names you know.

“I wanted to create a sunglass that drew inspirations from iconic women like Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot and my mom,” she says, and adds of collaborating with Stark, “We always make time for our friendship … the projects [are] an expression of the femininity that we, as girlfriends, celebrate in one another.”

We got an sneak peek at the photos and interview, but if you want even more from Hudson, check out the Editorialist’s pre-fall issue tomorrow morning. Then tell us: What do you think of Hudson’s new endeavor? Will you check it out? And seriously, when are we going to see her wedding dress?

Congrats to them both. Love her and that smile!

$850 sunglasses???

Boo boo on

Yes, $850 for sunglasses seems reasonable….

anon on

It’s her money…do people tell you how and what you can spend you money on? No, so STHU!

Star on

She may as well design overpriced sunglasses for her friends to buy. It’s not like the girl can act or anything…

bitsy on

@ anon – she isn’t buying the sunglasses with her money. she co-designed them and that is what they are being sold for. and yes, that is ridiculous.

Deborah on

GORGEOUS house, nice taste.

Deborah on

oops sorry.. wrong story.

Do you REALLY think she’d be where she is today, or even IN a People.com story IF it weren’t for WHO her Parents are?? JMHO :)

charlotte on

this story is more about the overpriced sunglasses than her “sooner rather than later” wedding that is long overdue anyway!

carecara on

I like her she should try to act again…nice sunglasses do not care for her choice of guys though thats just my opinion

Air Bear on

Didn’t she mention a couple of months ago that she couldn’t afford to purchase some of the gowns that she wears at award shows? But yet she is helping design sunglasses that cost $850.00 I am sorry but this makes no sense and kind of sounds like she is a hypocrite

Cara on

how about making sun glasses
affordable? 850.00?? Really?

Amaryllis on

Her glasses are the wrong shape for me. I prefer Tom Ford and Chanel.

Gottosaysomething on

Oh. Wow! I’m going to buy sunglasses for $850 and forgt about the poorest of poeople living in our own backyard!

dawn on

my everyday glasses didn’t even cost 200 get the f out of here.

Amaryllis on

@Gottosaysomething. What does buying expensive sunglasses have to do with poor people? If you’re rich and you want to buy fancy sunglasses or a $20 million house in Malibu it’s your prerogative. And doing so doesn’t necessarily mean that you don’t give to the poor.

I guess only her friends will be able to afford the eye wear..

And good luck on your second marrage…try to hang in there a little longer…

Who keeps paying for Kate Hudson to appear in the news? Obviously her movies suck and always tank at the movie theater so it’s not like she’s making it as an actress. She reminds of this Mexican star named Thalia – who is trying her hand at everything….from actress…to singer….to designer…to writer….to cook…and nothing ever works out…that’s Kate Hudson…nobody cares about her. She’s only famous because of Goldie Hawn.

And her wedding….also is not going to happen…she doesn’t even believe in marriage. And she cheated on Matthew with Chris Martin while they’ve been engaged why would it work out in the end? I doubt they will get married and if they do it’s because she forced him. Then she’ll add another divorce to her resume. But I guess for her it’s no big deal, after she had a kid out of wedlock.

While I really like her, $850 for sunglasses is literally insane. I think even if I could afford it, I wouldn’t do it.

Katie Hudson looks EXACTLY like the young girl in TEN DAYS. She a demigod or something? Looking good.
Big congrats to her and her mate. Hope this one can last for at least 50 years. Don’t fail him, Katie. He’s watching.
In hoc signo vinces.

$850.00 for a pair of sunglasses? I take two when it hits in “Outlet store”.

Terry on

She’s had plenty of time to get married.

Sophia on

Wow, so much hate on here. Don’t care about her sunglasses, I can’t or won’t buy them. I’m going to give a totally shallow statement now – I think she’s the most gorgeous natural beauty besides Cate Blanchett I’ve seen in a while.

Tamarin on

Meh, whatever. She’s not the marriage type. Maybe if she followed her mother’s lead she might be a little more successful with her relationships.

Ina Winn on

Kate Hudson is a has-been. She’s been with so many men and stayed with none. What happened to A-Rod? She grabbed after Cameron Diaz was finished with him??? Then wanted to be the “BIG STAR” at all the ball games. He dumped her.

Moudsie on

Congrats–their kid is 2 and they’re not married yet. Tell me–if this was the kid next door–who had a child and wasn’t married and was finally marrying the child’s father–would you be “so happy for them?” Or is just movie stars people are “so happy for” who get pregnant but not married?

Milky on

$850 isn’t unusual for designer sunglasses. No one’s making you buy them, there are plenty of cheap options on the market. Or skip sunglasses altogether and give your $20 to charity, if you’re going to practice what you preach.

noname4me on

Who in the heck can afford $850 sunglasses?

John DeLaney on

How does Matt Bellamy feel about this big step they are both taking? She is getting a real musical artist. And she can act any old time–like with her performance in “Skeleton Key.”

Sandra on

She’s lovely, and so is her Mom. Goldie did a good job. Neither Mother or daughter has ever said a mean thing about anyone. Bless them.

Thom on

Who cares about these pompus people. All the people in Hollywood are nut jobs!

maizystar on

Highly doubt she’ll ever get him down the aisle… She has been saying this “sooner rather than later” line since back in January, and if you actually read the editorialist article, they have just got the “Sooner rather than later” from her Fabletics interview with e-online (which changed every time she spoke to a new interviewer…..) She’s too busy to plan a wedding???? Please! every week she manages to get a mani/pedi……She hasn’t had her engagment ring on since December 2013…..They are either clearly on the rocks and trying to do everything to save their failing relationship for their son or she is creating gossip as he has a few movies coming out next month…. Just wish someone would speak to Matt or his people and get the real not so hollowood story about what’s going on…..

susan leclerc on

Weddings aren’t so exciting after the kids arrive. Hardly newsworthy! Just get on with it and don’t make such a big deal of it.
