Did Charlie Hunnam join the cast of Downton Abbey? No, but the actor looks like one of Lady Mary’s love interests in the photo above taken on set of his new horror movie Crimson Peak.

Dressed in a formal black tux, white gloves and a classic bow tie, Hunnam looks the complete opposite of his famous on-screen alter ego Jax Teller, the renegade biker on Sons of Anarchy. Most noticeably missing — his blonde scruff, a cornerstone of Teller’s bad boy look. We almost didn’t recognize Hunnam sans beard, and he’ll undoubtedly have to start growing it back when he begins filming the seventh and final season of SOA.

Last September, Hunnam famously backed out of the highly-anticipated franchise Fifty Shade of Grey. “The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey,” Universal Pictures and Focus Features said in a statement.

And while we won’t be seeing him strip down as Christian Grey, we’re happy to see Hunnam has moved on from the casting controversy. And we have to know what you think about his new clean-cut look. Vote in the poll below and share your thoughts in the comments.
