We Have a Lot of Feelings About This Week's Best Dressed Competition

Can we have a heart-to-heart? It’s about this week’s Most Loved Looks competition. Don’t get us wrong, we wouldn’t mind stealing Katie Holmes’s Balenciaga LBD with white trim (worn to the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball in N.Y.C.) — we just think we, as a StyleWatch democracy, can do better when it comes to crowning a winner.

Let’s take Emma Stone, for example. How stunningly gorgeous did she look at the London premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2? That beautiful yellow dress, those flawless waves, the bold lips. This ensemble hit all the right style notes, and it’s one of her personal bests from this promotional tour. (We even devoted an entire post to her look!)

We also would have been happy to crown Jessica Biel as this week’s Best Dressed. She attended the same Tiffany & Co. event as Katie, but her velvet Oscar de la Renta halter felt a bit more elegant — and that $325,000 diamond necklace certainly didn’t hurt her case.

Or what about Kate Bosworth? She took Jessica’s lead at the Tiffany & Co. event and went for pure glamour in a pink strapless Katie Ermilio gown, but then took an on-trend risk with a bold orange pout.

And then there’s Kiernan Shipka, our 14-year-old fashion icon, who stepped out at a Jimmy Choo event wearing a summer-ready yellow-and-gray Preen dress, plus what might be our new favorite pair of heels.

We would have been happy with any of these ladies as the winner, but Katie took it with over 17,000 votes. We’re not necessarily angry with the results, we’re just disappointed. But there’s always next week!

Tell us: Did you vote for Katie, or do you think another star should have taken this week’s title?

Emma’s look is as amaaaazing, but she has been looking too skinny lately.

Katie’s look is classy. It’s simple and beautiful. Of your suggestions, the only other that comes close is Jessica Biel.

You all are disgusting and rude!!! Your magazine should be put out of business

Emma Stone, for the win! No one come even close….

What a mean and hateful attitude about Katie. Didn’t your mother teach you that it never works to build yourself up by tearing someone else down?

I might not bite the hand that feeds you, People. Katie looks great. With all the over-the-top, look at me celeb styles out there, it’s nice to see one that regular people can identify with. Next time say thanks for the participation instead of admonishing us for not selecting who you like.

Emma Stone gets it right just about every time. Katie does okay here and there.

I’ve noticed that People has been taking a lot of subtle digs at Katie ever since she divorced Tom. Meanwhile, they fawn over Tom. Guess we know who’s side their on. She looks elegant and classy. Maybe not my #1 look, but I certainly don’t have a problem with it.

Emma Stone’s dress is nothing to write home about People. I don’t think anybody could pull it off. What I love about Katie’s dress is that anyone…posh or not, can look good in it. It’s about what those who voted decided…now you just sit and grumble. If you didn’t care for it, why did you put it up as an option?
