In our weekly roundup of the looks that are gaining fashion ground (and the ones losing their style street cred), we saw some dizzying designs, statement outerwear and one mani trend that’s on the decline.

Up: Extreme Prints. Mixing patterns is old news. Now stars are trying to out-print one another in head-turning designs. Krysten Ritter (left) stuns in her embroidered Emilio Pucci mini while her Veronica Mars co-star, Kristen Bell, demands equal attention in her kaleidoscope-print Naeem Khan crop top. And both ladies are early adopters of the bright-orange lipstick trend too.

Up: Bold Jackets. One of the keys to creating a great outfit is to add a statement element, and this week fashion-forward celebs have been adding daring toppers to their looks for an eye-catching pop of style. Our Celeb Style Council member Jamie Chung (center) spices up her demure, white ensemble with an edgy, studded BCBG piece. Jessica Alba also followed the trend in a leopard double-breasted Anthropologie blazer. Basically, the basic black moto jacket isn’t cutting it anymore.

Down: Black Nails. Jane Krakowski’s dark tips definitely coordinated with her Victoria Beckham dress; however, they felt a bit out of sync with the more spring-friendly and neutral lacquers most stars favored. (But with Lorde’s new MAC collaboration debuting this summer, black might be back very soon!)

It’s not a trend until fashion slaves Jessica Alba and Reese Witherspoon start wearing it!

I only see one person wearing print. Am I on the wrong page of the “crazy” trend?
