OMG I love the ring! Like other posters, wasn’t sure at first but these pictures do it justice. I also think it’s timeless in a way that the more modern, huge diamonds (a la KK) are not.
I really wish these two the best. They are both extremely successful and probably found a partner that understands them. I also hope they take plenty of time for play! Congrats to the lovely couple!

this is a beautiful ring I am glad she took her time shows a real maturity and I am happy to see something simple and not over the top 52 carats like some trying so hard to prove they love each other, and yes I am talking to you trashdasians. I wish them well.

a unique and beautiful ring to be sure, and anything bigger with a larger carat weight (even though it was easily affordable) would not have suited her hand because she is a rather petit woman… so it is rather a perfect ring for her in all aspects!

She has a sister named “Elizabeth”? Did they mean “Ashley”? Beautiful ring, too.

I think the 50s represents the decade the groom was born.

It does look better on the Sotheby’s site than those fuzzy close-ups of her wearing it, but I’m still not a huge fan. But… it’s not my ring! :) I’m glad it isn’t.

I love it and the idea of vintage. But funny, I don’t think of 1953 as vintage but I guess it is. I love vintage so much my engagement ring/Edwardian, wedding band/art deco and anniversary band/art deco are all vintage. My favorite is Art Deco.

An example of how love is blond…I mean blind. A 60 year old ring, a 50 year old groom and a 20 year old bride. The age difference would not be such a big deal if she didn’t look 12 and he wasn’t wrinkly and soft looking.
