02/24/2014 at 06:15 PM ET

The Oscars are less than a week away, which means our office style and beauty pools are in full swing. Will Lupita Nyong’o wear bright shadow? Will Jennifer Lawrence go for a bold lip? Will Amy Adams wear her hair down or go for the updo? These are the very important questions we’re debating right now. So to get ready for Hollywood’s biggest night, our editors decided to take a look back at some of the most memorable beauty moments to hit the red carpet so far.

We don’t want to give too much away (that’s what the video above is for), but let’s just say Style & Beauty Director Andrea Lavinthal and Deputy Style & Beauty Director Zoë Ruderman cover all the big beauty bases, from Taylor Swift’s signature red lip at the Golden Globes to Katy Perry’s woven updo at the Grammys. Plus, you don’t want to miss their heated debate on the best ombré hair moment … which may or may not be all about Jared Leto’s majestic mane.
