From being in the public eye, Julianne Hough has encountered her fair share of internet bullies and haters. But rather than let it get her down, Hough is using her experiences to build people up, as an ambassador for the Kind Campaign and a partner in its upcoming Kind Camp.

Started by Aaron Paul’s wife Lauren and her friend Molly Thompson, the Kind Campaign aims to end girl-on-girl bullying with the help of a documentary, Finding Kind, and school tours. Hough joined forces with the Kind Campaign team as an ambassador, and now will be a speaker addressing “media and self-esteem issues” at its first ever daylong camp. On Feb. 22, 160 girls from the L.A. area will gather to learn about such issues as relationships and self-care, and to then bring what they’ve learned back to their schools.

Hough’s role will be to “co-lead the breakout session on Media and Self Esteem … to open discussion about the negative effect tabloids and gossip can have on body image and confidence,” according to the Kind Camp website. She’ll be one of several high-profile women leading discussion groups on the tough subjects young girls deal with in school.

It’s a great idea! I hope they do more of these events around the country.

What a great idea!! Wish they would pull a few girls from all over the states to learn and bring back to their communities and schools. Such a great focus should be shared all over the US. I know my thirteen year old daughter from Chicago would love to attend

Her Halloween costume was not kind. Maybe she needs to take some courses on being kind and respectful before she tries to teach kids how to be kind. This is probably a PR move because of the Halloween incident. Sorry, I’m not convinced she is actually sensitive to other’s feelings.

She’s not really an actress, she’s a dancer. Ryan Seacrest helped her get into the movies.
