Kim Basinger is no longer just giving daughter Ireland Basinger Baldwin modeling advice from behind the camera. She’s now going to be teaching by example, after signing a contract with Baldwin’s modeling agency, IMG.

Basinger, 60, started her career as a model at age 16, two years younger than Ireland is now. As a Ford model, she famously was the Breck Shampoo girl before transitioning to acting, eventually winning an Oscar for her role in L.A. Confidential. And though she’s worked steadily, Basinger has also been relishing her role as mom to Ireland, laying low at the same time her daughter has entered the public eye.

After signing with IMG Models in early 2013, the teen put her mom’s advice to work in her first big photoshoot for the NY Post. She followed it up with a spread in Elle, in which the resemblance to her mother was even more striking.

In the Elle profile, Ireland credited her mom for getting her into modeling (“She thought it would be good for my confidence because I never thought of myself as a pretty girl,” Ireland said) and hinted that modeling could be in the cards for Basinger: “She looks like she’s my age. Her body, I swear, it’s scary.”

And Basinger is ready to go. She stepped out at the Grudge Match premiere in a sharp menswear-inspired Ralph Lauren Collection outfit, looking like the natural in front of the camera that she is. So now we have to add “Basinger/Baldwin modeling campaign” to our wish list for 2014.

What do you think about the mother/daughter model duo? Excited to see what’s next for Basinger?

Kim is way better looking than Ireland (who is very average with a strange face). Ireland WISHES she looked like Kim.

Jealous,much !

This woman will be beautiful at any age! What I love about her is that she is letting mother nature decide what she looks like at 60 and not Dr. Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon. Good for you Kim!

Good for Kim. She looks beautiful at 60 and although she’s undoubtedly had “help” — it looks natural.

Kim Bassinger is beautiful but she sounds like a complete airhead in interviews. Always sounds like she is on something.

She looks like Bruce Willis in drag!

There is something odd about that entire family. They have what seems like a very strange mother/daughter relationship-something is just weird about how they relate. Ireland is not very bright and has some serious insecurities, which she seems to feel the need publicly share on social media. And Alec Baldwin-whoa! A hateful, bigoted, egomaniacal, abusive, hypocritical hothead. They are all crazy & I don’t understand why People Mag has taken on the role of Ireland Baldwin’s personal publicist, giving her press under any or no pretext at all. Can’t you wait until there is at least a story to report?

Kim had a smoking hot sultry look about her. She was a one of a kind in her day. And she still looks good. Her daughter is pretty, but she is no Kim.

Kim was/is a beauty. Ireland, not so such.

That’s mean. I’m sure you are no prize yourself. I bet you WISH you looked like either of them. Loser.
