Right now, the hottest rising star in Hollywood is Lupita Nyong’o, who’s garnered a Golden Globe nomination for 12 Years a Slave and earned acclaim for her pitch-perfect wardrobe and beautiful makeup during the movie’s promotional tour.

Now she has one more major accolade to add to her résumé: Vogue has named her to their annual best-dressed list as “One to Watch in 2014.”

And they’ve exclusively shared this shot of the star from the January issue, which portrays her in a striking black-and-white striped dress and cheeky Lanvin necklace, looking like she’s been modeling her entire life (when in fact, she was a student at Yale drama school not too long ago).

We couldn’t agree more with the magazine’s assessment — Nyong’o’s style parade is one of the main reasons we’re already gearing up for awards season. Check out more of her jaw-dropping looks to date at Vogue.com, and pick up the new issue on stand Dec. 23.

What do you think of the shot? Are you as enamored of her style as we are? Weigh in below!

she is stunning and the dress is fabulous!

She looks like an alien, she would look more feminine with longer hair but has a great sense of fashion

Quail: It would be a crime to cover up that bone structure with some generic weave…!

Wow, she is beautiful. I love that she wears her hair naturally. STUNNING!

That’s great that they’ve chosen to feature her. The next step is a cover.

Great photo, and I agree with one of the other commenters, the next step for Lupita is the cover! As lovely as she is in photos, she’s even prettier on film. Saw an interview with her from the Hollywood Reporter, and this girl’s face is *beautiful*! Good luck Lupita, I hope Hollywood gets more colorblind with their casting and can offer you the movie parts you deserve.

She is talented and gorgeous. Agree with others on her next step being a cover. Also, she should be hired to be a spokesmodel for some high end fashion house and given the same opportunities like other young and talented women.

WOW she’s gorgeous and stunning. She will be an actress to watch this 2014! She was mesmerizing at the movie “12 Years a Slave”. I hope she win.

Really “quail”? An alien because she is not sporting extensions flowing flowing down her back?? Can’t wait to see what YOU look like. Lupita is flawless! Hope to see her on the COVER of Vogue one day.

Alien? OK Come to think about it, she is “out of this world” beautiful, and rather “other worldly”, so I guess you are right!! (I hope she never goes the blonde extensions route, her stunning face should never be hidden)
