You’ve drooled over the gorgeous on-set photos and watched the teasers a million times, and now the wait is over. The much-anticipated Dolce & Gabbana short film featuring Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey and directed by Martin Scorsese, has been released — and we’re thrilled to host its exclusive debut. Grab some popcorn and watch it below!

Titled Street of Dreams, the black-and-white spot for the label’s new scent “The One” marks the first time Johansson and McConaughey have worked together onscreen. They star as ex-lovers who are reunited after years apart. The backdrop for this romantic rendezvous? New York City on a Sunday morning, a personal favorite location of Scorsese. “I love those streets, they’re part of me because that’s where I grew up,” he says.

Johansson plays the “aspiring beautiful young star looking for love,” and McConaughey is cast as a “magnetic screen icon with a trail of paparazzi in his wake.” (Yep, he’s basically playing himself. But he’s so good at it!)

The designers could not be happier with the casting. “Scarlett is the embodiment of ‘The One’ woman,” Domenico Dolce shares in a press release. “She lives and breathes every womanly nuance. She exudes desire and innocence. She is both sobriety and sensuality. There is innocence in her eyes yet her smile is laced with mischief. She is a talented actress and a beautiful woman.”

As for McConaughey, Stefano Gabbana expresses a similar sentiment: “Matthew is the ultimate charmer. He is an outstanding actor, and a very handsome man whose good looks seem to be increasing with age. And he has also been blessed with style, not to mention a clever wit and boundless charisma. There could be no other face for ‘The One for Men.'”

Street of Dreams will officially premiere during primetime shows on Nov. 6, with different cuts running throughout November and December. Are you a fan of the spot? What do you think of Johansson and McConaughey’s onscreen chemistry? Share your thoughts below!

?! I’m surprised. I admire Scorsese. and I do love the choice of black and white. but the ‘acting’ ? Johansson and McConaughey? sound stilted, awkward. the ad falls flat, for me.

Scarlett Johansson reminds me so very much of the exotic,
sexy, gorgeous & sweet young Russian women who I date
in New York. I absolutely love & adore Scarlett Johansson!

The acting was fine for me; the music ruined it…too loud, too long, over-powering…was like a long whine. Matthew & Scarlett gorgeous, though

The acting was not nostalgic unlike the scenery and the ambiance that it gives. Felt like a pg movie trying to fit into something classic. Terrible if you ask me. Poor character choices.

Agree with ghd, the acting was so stilted! It must have been the script.

Humm… I was surprised. I am a huge fan of Scarlett, but the connection between her and Matthew was not very convincing to me. :( There was just no chemistry. Everything else from the setting, the b&w and music was great.

Get Brad and Angelina, they are a perfect example of chemistry. With one look, they say it all.
I love the idea of this add, but this couple does not sell attraction.

It would have almost been better as 2 separate commercials – one staring each with some extra eye candy. I agree about the “no chemistry” and over-powering music. I felt like I was just watching Scar and Matt. I wasn’t “transported” anywhere – even for a brief moment.

The music was too much, the acting sub-par, and the chemistry just wasn’t there. Love MC, and SJ is OK, but nothing about this ad worked for me.

1. Scarlett Johansson, the location and the B&W scheme ….. PERFECT choices!
2. Matthew McConaughey and his acting ….. not up to par!
3. Musical scoring ….. could have been better!
