There are diamonds. And then there are diamonds. If you thought the 15-carat sparkler Kayne West gave to bride-to-be Kim Kardashian was impressive, get ready to have your mind blown again.

Say hello to this 59.6-carat pink diamond, which is four times bigger than Kardashian’s Lorraine Schwartz stunner and expected to fetch about $60 million when it goes up for auction in November by Sotheby’s, the Guardian reports.

The diamond, called the “Pink Star” and mined in South Africa in 1999, is a one of a kind and is expected to surpass a record for the most expensive gem ever sold. That record was set three years ago by the “Graff Pink” diamond, which measured in at 24.78 carats and sold for $46 million.

“This is a very exciting diamond,” David Bennett, chairman of Sotheby’s European jewelry division told the paper. “Apart from the words about how rare it is, it’s just such a beautiful stone. Pink diamonds, in my experience, are the most desired of all the color. I’ve never shown a pink diamond to somebody who then hasn’t liked it. It’s a joyful color. It makes people happy. When you are looking at a diamond like this, you are looking at a real treasure of the earth.”

The Pink Star diamond was last sold privately in 2007.

What do you thin of the godzilla-size sparkler? Are you a fan of pink diamonds?

This ring is TACKY but not as tacky as Kim!!

That’s absurd. A ring that size has nothing to do with love. It’s all about showing off how much money you have. Great basis for a marriage!

Okay, now this is just getting ridiculously pathetic. Now you’re mentioning her in stories that have nothing to do with her? Omg….I can’t.

Pink diamonds are beautiful and very romantic. I don’t think I would want to wear anything as large as the Pink Star, but that doesn’t mean no one else would, nor does it mean it’s tacky. This ring has NOTHING to do with Kim K, so how did she get dragged into the conversation?

When a ring is this big-there is no way that it will ever look real.
Anyone that would own this would wear a fake anyway and keep this in a safe so what is the point? The point is as a professional wardrobe stylist? Size does not matter and hopefully we can begin to move on from the consumptive bauble that really only gauges your age in the long run….to a time before the recession…you would never see Angelina Jolie wearing anything but a band because true wealth that is defined in style doesn’t need to be defined by size. #stylerescue

The size if a diamond has NOTHING to do with love. Sick and tired of celebs and gossipmedia fawning over ridiculoƻs expensive meaningless rings

Great, now Kim will marry, then divorce Kanya, sell of her current engagement ring so she can get a bigger engagement ring from number four husband.

Always wonder what the “cost” was to get a diamond from Africa like this. Maybe I watch too many movies like “Blood Diamond”

It should be red because i’m sure it’s a blood diamond.

I hope that ring doesn’t turn the model’s hand green!
