She pulls fashion risks like this. She’s married to a guy who looks like this. Her kids dress like this. And now we have even more proof that Gwen Stefani is the coolest singer/designer/mom on the planet: She’s launching a new nail polish collection with OPI!

“With her expertise as a singer, songwriter and designer, who better to collaborate with than Gwen Stefani?” OPI Executive VP and Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann says in a statement. “Known for her trademark red lips, bold eye makeup and nail art, Gwen uses beauty to accessorize her style.”

The signature shade of her seven-piece collection is “Over & Over A-Gwen,” a red polish inspired by her signature lipcolor. Others include “Push and Shove,” a chrome hue, and the glitter shade “In True Stefani Fashion.” And for nail art addicts, there’s a box set with black and silver Swarovski crystals and metallic studs in a variety of shapes. (Stefani herself wears a chic geometric mani in her ad!)

“OPI wanted to create a collection as dramatic, diverse and glamorous as its namesake,” Weiss-Fischmann says. “With crème and glitter hues, new satin matte texture, a mirrored chrome and Swarovski elements, Gwen Stefani by OPI presents the latest in pigments and finishes, while combining elements of haute couture and street fashion.”

Now that you have the rundown on the line, when can you buy it? Not until January 2014 (sigh). But it sounds like it’ll be worth the wait.

Are you excited about Stefani’s latest endeavor?

What happened to her? She used to be cute, hip, and cool. Now she’s just another sell out.

I never get the point of celebrities having nail polish collections, perfumes, makeup, etc. The professionals are creative enough to design things themselves and the celebrities usually go through the process with their hands held so they don’t contribute very much. I guess it’s all about the sheep fans who will buy whatever their favorite artist/celebrity tags their name to. For companies it’s basically PR, building customer base.

very cool. OPI is a female owned company, give it up for power ladies!

There are only so many shades of bright red. I doubt hers is anything special.

They do it because they can make a fortune. Jessica Simpson does basically nothing anymore (other than being pregnant) and rakes in big bucks for putting her name on clothing and shoes.

Haters hate. She approved the colors an she’s got style. I think it’s a brilliant collaboration… for the nail world :0)

Ska Mon, how far back are you talking? I owned her LAMB for Le Sportsac line at least 15 years ago. While cute, hip and cool, she’s always been a sellout.

LOL at all the people below who don’t get that celebrities make brand partnerships because they are smartly making money off of their image and popularity. GO GWEN!
