One Direction's Movie Premiere Style: So Chic or So 'NSYNC Circa 1999?

Can someone please confirm that all of Hollywood hasn’t somehow gotten into the same DeLorean and traveled to the ’90s? First Rihanna seems to be one mullet away from singing “Achy Breaky Heart.” Then rumors swirl that *NSYNC may be reuniting come Sunday. Then we see this photo of One Direction at the London premiere of their concert film, looking like they took a page right out of the *NSYNC playbook with their just-coordinated-enough quintet of ensembles.

RELATED PHOTOS: All about One Direction’s oh-so-dreamy style!

From left, we’ve got preppy Louis Tomlinson in a super-shrunken double-breasted suit and gold-heeled Oxfords; fashionisto Zayn Malik in an overcoat worn over a buttoned leather single-closure blazer; laid-back Niall Horan in the high-style equivalent of a letterman’s jacket and sneakers; perpetually wacky Harry Styles in that heart-print Burberry shirt he loves (still pining for Taylor?) and “style chameleon” Liam Payne lives up to his title in a look that’s half biker bad boy, half buttoned-up office worker.

We’d expect nothing less than lovingly tousled perfection from the group that brought us 1D cosmetics (yes, the cheek tint is called “What Makes You Beautiful”) and One Moment, a fragrance with a mile-long waiting list. And we have to say, from their carefully coiffed dos to their well-thought-out shoes, the boys don’t disappoint in the grooming department. But is their black-and-white color coordination adorable, or is it just a little too Timberlake & Co. circa JT’s curly-Q days?

I remember nsync they sooo don’t have their style, nsync was stylish In whatever they wore,I grew up with them and the backstreet boys, the style doesn’t look the same at generation new look new young singers …and Joey and lance were always sooo hot

I dunno Terri… I also grew up with Nsync and the Backstreet Boys — and they both made some questionable style choices ;)

I dig it.

They look more like backstreet boys then nysnc. Backstreet boys had that shorta suit and tie style while nysnc was trying anything. They had flashy outfits rarely any suit and tie. I would know I was a 90s kid

I still don’t find it very…. interesting when a dude wears pants tighter then me! right away I think.. ugh that isn’t a good look.

Meh, I’m so not into the whole metro guy look. Men should be men, not so feminized….

But not expecting much from them since they are let teens/early twenties. They have time to mature ;)

It’s a little Nsync-like but I love Nsync!

The clothes look good but someone should start feeding Zayn before he disappears.
