When Grammy-winning pop star and X Factor judge Kelly Rowland walked onto the set of her latest workout DVD with celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins, Sexy Abs Cardio Sculpt, heads turned. And that’s just the way Rowland wanted it; after all, she worked hard for her insanely toned body.

“I did this whole workout for an hour five days a week to prepare,” Rowland tells PEOPLE, adding that she typically did yoga on the sixth day. “I’m thinking to myself, ‘What the hell was I thinking?’ It is intense while you’re doing it. But when you’re done you feel incredible.”

And as you can see in the photo above, you apparently look incredible too. Rowland confesses that the goal was to look good naked, but not with anyone specific in mind: “I have to see myself naked! That’s all that counts. If I’m not happy with my naked body, who will be?”

Even with that motivation, Rowland says it’s not always easy. “I listen to my body. If I’m tired I’ll call Jeanette and say ‘I can’t make it today,’ but [usually] I need to get up for myself. I want that after workout feeling,” she says, adding she’ll squeeze in workouts on the road, both with the DVD and in the gym. “I actually like to go to the gym. I like to be around other spirits who like to work out too. Because they’re gonna push me and I’m gonna try and show off.”

So why release another fitness DVD two years after their first collaboration? “The first DVD we did just focused on abs. Now I’m getting blown up by people: ‘I want Kelly Rowland’s arms! I want Kelly Rowland’s legs!'” says Jenkins. “Bottom line, is if I didn’t do this video I think somebody would be coming after me.”

Well, if you’re among those people, you can call off the dogs: Rowland and Jenkins’s Sexy Abs Cardio Sculpt DVD will be available in October on and

Kelly has always had a naturally lean figure. I don’t think she needs much working out to have a great body.

thats sad for her to think like that. personally, i dont like my naked body. but my bf sure does, and he tells me all the time im perfect and hot and sexy. so as long as he’s ok with it, im going to be ok with it. a man shouldnt base his love for any woman off her body anyways…

I have to give Kelly a lot of credit.

She clearly works out and is very toned! Genetics definitely play a role though, just a fact. That doesn’t mean that if you aren’t naturally lean and don’t easily acquire muscle you should just give up because of your genes, but at the same time there’s no denying some people have a propensity towards leaner bodies. Either way though, healthy food and exercise are important–it’s not just about what you see in the mirror, it’s also about your internal health. Good for her for committing herself to a healthy life when yes, she could probably not work as hard and still LOOK fine.

Whoa! Relax! Get over yourself.

@kay, personally, I think it is sad that your boyfriend’s opinion about your body is more important than your own. Love for another starts with self love.

Apparently people don’t understand what they’re reading. She says if she doesn’t feel good about her body who will??? This is what works for HER. So everybody climb down off of your judgy mountain. Comprehension is just a fundamental as reading.

aw, what a nice outlook she has…a good body equates to love. sigh.

@ kica I doubt anyone needs your approval to express an opinion. take your own advice.

@meena…. i am the type of person that will never be happy w my body, no matter how much i work out. i work out 5 days a week. im 5’4″ and weigh 115lbs. everyone says i have a perfect body. but in MY eyes i’ll never be 100% satisfied. thats MY own issue to deal with. i’m just saying that she shouldn’t place so much emphasis on what a man will think of her body…
