If her last magazine cover didn’t have you convinced, this one certainly will: Emma Watson is officially all grown up.

Not that that’s ever been the ultimate goal, she shares in the June/July issue of W magazine — and we’ve got the exclusive first look.

“I’ve never wanted to grow up too fast. I wanted to wear a sports bra until I was 22!” she says. “The allure of being sexy never really held any excitement for me. I’ve never been in a terrible rush to be seen as a woman.”

But after years of playing schoolgirl Hermione Granger, Watson was ready for a change — so she cut her hair and took darker roles like that of Nicki, a celeb-burgling teen in the upcoming The Bling Ring. And she quickly went from plaid skirts to a very different kind of on-set wardrobe.

“Who wouldn’t love to go to work in Uggs and very low-slung tracksuit bottoms?” the star says of Nicki’s Paris Hilton-chic attire. “At one point I told the costumer designer, ‘You can see my bra strap in this top; shouldn’t we pin it?’ And she said, ‘No, sweetie — Nicki is all about her bra strap showing.’ I was like, Right, okay, different mind-set.”

For lots more gorgeous shots like these (including the one below) and more from Watson, check out W Magazine, as well as their site. And tell us: What do you think about Watson not wanting to grow up too fast? Do you like her new style?

Great photos. She’s beautiful and seems very down to earth.

Her parents and management team around her have done an amazing job!

Too late, Emma. lol. My husband’s jaw started dropping around Order of the Phoenix, I think…

What a beautiful young woman, both inside and out. I know older women that could take a few pointers from Miss Watson. This is a role model! I wish more young women could see that you don’t have to dress like a “society’s lady” to be attractive or popular. Good for you Emma, I could hug your parents!

She absolutely amazes me. What a terrific role model this young lady is! (Wonder what Ron and Harry are thinking about now??!!)

The 1950s photoshoot is amazing but I absolutely love the quote and really shows she has a level head. It’s her morality that makes her more of a woman than just the clothes she wears.

Rhonda on

She is a very good role model for young girls.

Oh, don’t worry, Emma. We won’t think of you as being sexy.

Never mind the exploitative magazine covers and accompanying pics which depict you in all manner of provocative pose, dress, and gesture.

Never mind the sex-laced movie roles which lie in your future.

Never mind the fact that the industry handlers to whom you are subject will press upon you one more provocative publicity gig after another.

In short, we’ll never have any reason to think of you in such a cheap, exploitative manner!

Thank God for a classy young girl! Honestly, you see girls over the years try to prove themselves by being sexy, instead of just showing their talent and commitment to the industry (can anybody say Miley Cyrus?). I hope this young girl has years and years of continued success.

Emma is a beautiful woman and sexy in a subtle way.
