Will we be seeing less of Miranda Kerr in lingerie?

According to reports, Victoria’s Secret has decided not to renew Kerr’s $1 million contract, despite the star being one of the brand’s most recognizable faces.

Though the brand won’t confirm the speculation, sources behind the scenes tell PEOPLE there’s some truth to the pervasive diva rumors. “She can be difficult at shoots and appearances. She’s not very timely,” the source says. “She’s standoffish with the rest of the girls.”

But that wouldn’t be enough to get her the ax, the source continues. “If Miranda and Victoria’s Secret part ways it’s not because of her behavior. It’s purely contractual. She’ll be coming back for the show but it’s unclear if she’ll be in future campaigns. But she is definitely one of the most popular models and in high demand.”

For their part, Victoria’s Secret released the following statement from president and chief marketing officer Ed Razek: “Miranda Kerr is one of the best models in the history of the business — and easily one of the most popular. She is also a consummate professional,” he wrote. “Any rumors to the contrary are simply untrue. While her international commitments have kept her away from us more than we’d like over the past few years, she will always be an Angel to me … In fact, I’ve already invited her to walk the runway in this year’s fashion show and, happily, she’s agreed.”

Tell us: What do you think of Kerr possibly being let go? Who would you like to see be the next Victoria’s Secret Angel?

Well, “purely contractual” means it’s her contract! If they wanted her to stay they would offer her another contract.

I sincerely hope that a model that rakes in $1 mill a year for just one contract/business isn’t a diva..and isn’t difficult to work with. I mean come on people….this isn’t rocket science or brain surgery….the girl isn’t curing Cancer…she walks and smiles and gets paid for just that. No one in that position has the right to be difficult in my opinion.

while I’m no VS model, I have worked with her on a commercial and she was one of the nicest celebs that I’ve ever met. I was doing “lowly”:) background work to make my health insurance – so she had no reason to be so friendly to me or any of the background actors with me. I can’t picture her being a diva at all. She was really sweet. I also happen to be friends with the producer of that commercial and remember him talking very highly of her. I think it’s all rumors…now, wether or not she’s fighting for a better contract (for either more money or less commitment so she can do other gigs) is another story…

She would probably be much happier if she could eat more than they allow Angels to eat!

To Jordan: Her contract is actually 1million over 3yrs…slash that in half after taxes and it nearly as much as other models are getting paid millions per yr…just sayin

perhaps she is being replaced by Gigi Hadid, Yolanda’s daughter. Yolanda stated on twitter that Gigi was “auditioning for them last week!

“While her international commitments have kept her away from us more than we’d like over the past few years, she will always be an Angel to me …”

–> the quote says it all. The contract was not renewed because VS finds Miranda Kerr’s other obligations to other international brands to be distracting. Perhaps MK was representing an Australian lingerie brand?.

Most models want more freedom to do more work. Plus shes a mom.

I am sure she is not worried. She can get work anywhere. And I don’t believe one word of the diva story. It’s just the media stirring up trouble.
