Jessica Chastain's Sheer Paris Fashion Week Pants Leave Us (and Her Legs) Cold

Did Jessica Chastain intercept a package meant for Kim Kardashian? Or did she work extra-hard on her awards season physique, and so hates to let all those squats go to waste? There must be some explanation for the totally out-of-character pants, complete with thigh-baring sheer lace inserts, the star wore to the Givenchy show during Paris Fashion Week.

If we’d spotted these unusual trousers on, say, Rihanna, we wouldn’t have batted an eyelash. But on the classic beauty, whose last big red carpet moment was the extraordinarily elegant Giorgio Armani gown she wore to the Oscars, they were more than a little jarring.

Between her flat-ironed hair and her model stance, we have to assume this is an effort by the star to try more avant-garde fashion. And we certainly can’t argue with the fact that an inverted-V cutout at the crotch of one’s pants, inset with gold lace and displaying two-tone undershorts, is the very definition of avant-garde.

Tell us: What do you think of Jessica Chastain’s high-fashion look? Do you prefer her in more classic styles?

Jessica Chastain is an elegant woman ,no matter what she wears, a class act always!

It’s impossible to comment on her outfit from just a photo, but she, herself, looks gorgeous, sophisticated, and confident regardless what she wears.
