Naomi Campbell: I'm 'Never Gonna Get Away' from the Cell Phone Incident

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been branded many things in her life, but there’s one incident in particular that will always follow her famous name.

“I’m never gonna get away from [the cell phone throwing incident],” she says in the February issue of ELLE. “It’s part of my history. I was remorseful and regretful. I’ve served. I did that time. And I never want to be in that position again.”

Thankfully for Campbell, these days, the focus is on her upcoming reality competition show The Face, which tasks her (and costars Karolina Kurková and Coco Rocha) with finding the next face of ULTA Beauty. “I care for my girls. Every single one of them,” Campbell says of the up-and-comers she mentors on the Oxygen series. “I’m not here to put anyone down.”

As for comparisons to that other model-centric reality show, produced by that other supermodel? Campbell doesn’t really care.

“I don’t watch the other reality model shows,” she admits. “I’ll never have anything to say. If you ask me about Tyra Banks, I’m proud of her as a woman of color. She’s given girls opportunity, and God bless her.”

To hear more from Campbell — and to see her strike some sick poses in looks from Zac Posen, Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton and more — pick up the February issue of ELLE (on newsstands Jan. 15) and visit

Probably because it wasn’t just the cellphone incident, but many incidents.

The only person I’ve seen who keeps bringing this up is Naomi. Of course you won’t “get away from” it if you keep talking about it.

What is it with her and phone? She was also accused of throwing another cell phone in 2000, I believe, And then in Toronto she was charged with beating someone with a phone. WTF? Phones?!

stop talking about it…i forgot you existed until I read this.

Guess maybe she shouldn’t have thrown a cellphone at another human being’s head then.

And I wouldn’t call parading around in designer duds and high heels while doing community service “remorseful” or “regretful”.

Thats because your nothing but a b!tch and WE can’t get away from you! Now do us all a favor and run off into oblivion!!

Maybe the punishment fit the crime … They never answered her calls? Ha!

This is the world today, people. It’s gonna get worse. People will be walking around with guns & just shooting eachother! It’s already happening!

It’s a God’less society.
