The One Thing We Actually Liked About 'Liz & Dick'

While the made-for-TV movie may have been panned by critics and a handful of celeb viewers on Twitter, Liz & Dick did have one redeeming quality: Lindsay Lohan‘s wardrobe.

The Lifetime movie chronicles Elizabeth Taylor‘s relationship with Richard Burton from 1961 to 1984, which means there was a spectrum of pretty awesome period looks. We especially loved the wedding scene, where Lohan sported a version of Taylor’s iconic yellow mini dress complete with a floral headpiece, and an ultra-glam poolside look consisting of a retro floral-print swimsuit, an oversize hat and cat-eye sunnies.

Lohan also slipped into 64 more ensembles including fab furs and jewel-tone cocktail dresses, several of which were vintage. “Many of the vintage dresses fit her like a glove. Lohan’s waist measures a tiny 23 inches, while Taylor’s was a mere 22 inches,” the movie’s costume designer, Salvador Pérez, recently told PEOPLE.

Like the clothing and accessories, Lohan’s hair and makeup were also spot-on, particularly her dramatic winged liner and bold red lip (exact shade: M.A.C lipstick in “Hot Tahiti”).

“[Lohan] looks so much like her. There was a moment when she saw her picture on the monitor and said ‘I’m her.’ It was thrilling,” the movie’s hair stylist, Beatrice De Alba, explained to PEOPLE.

So though Lohan’s acting skills are up for debate, at least the troubled actress looked good while attempting to pay homage to the late icon. Tell us: Did you watch Liz & Dick? Did Lohan do Taylor justice?

I don’t know why Logan got that role anyway! That’s the best they could get? I’m glad its over.

Lilo can’t even party with out screwing that up. What were they thinking casting her. I did not watch because I can’t stomach her.

Never listen to the critics! They have said some very good movies were given bad reviews . With that said ,I don’t think it’s really gonna matter what she does good or bad. People are so over it!

This is how she SHOULD dress.

I actually enjoyed the movie. It was made for TV, for crying out loud. I thought both actors carried their roles, and I was touched by the theme of love through all the BS of being famous. Would that we all experienced such a love.

I actually liked the movie, it was made for TV and the reason they casted Lindsay Lohan is because she looks sooo much like Elizabeth Taylor. I hope Lindsay gets herself together and continues working and becomes healthy.

I watched the movie, I loved it! We’re not talking Oscar pics here people – as others said, it’s a made for tv movie! That said, I thought Lohan did a great job. She’s always been a good actress, despite her personal life which is really none of our business anyway. I’m glad to see she’s getting back into the biz. Not really sure she ‘looks so much’ like Taylor but the wardrobe was fantastic and I totally bought her in the role. No complaints here!

Sorry, she doesn’t look a THING like Elizabeth Taylor.

I thought she did an amazing job and I actually enjoyed the move. I typically hate lifetime movies!
