It sounds like Lucy Hale could use an elf: The Pretty Little Liars star hasn’t made a dent in her holiday shopping list yet.

“Usually I am done and wrapped by the end of October, but this year I haven’t even started,” the actress recently told PEOPLE. “And it’s nearing December!”

She might want to get started: Hale has a lot of loved ones to shop for, including her PLL costars Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson and Troian Bellisario. “We have a wrap party [coming up] so I’m sure there will be a little bit of gift giving,” she shared.

Greeting fans at a Bongo-sponsored karaoke bash at the South Coast Plaza Sears in Costa Mesa, Calif., over the weekend, Hale said her family is starting a new gifting tradition this year. “My mom and I made this rule with our family that each of us could only get each other one gift, because usually it’s just a bunch of things,” she explained. “We just want to pinpoint one thing that everyone wants.”

But despite the fact that she has presents to buy, Hale already has the perfect holiday party dresses picked out. “Bongo has these really cute sequined mini dresses, which are good for Christmas parties, or New Year’s Eve,” the brand spokeswoman said. “But I really haven’t thought much about Christmas yet — I can’t believe it’s already here!” Tell us: Have you started your holiday shopping?

This shows the class difference between upper middle and lower. People who live paycheck to paycheck don’t have the luxury of buying presents early because we have to pay bills in order to keep our light on, keep our apartment, and feed ourselves. I have so much to pay before dec 25, thinking about presents would be problematic to my well being. Also maybe I should explain I am a college senior working part time at a law firm,
