Why Is Taylor Swift Sad About Owning Hundreds of Dresses?

Having a closet packed with designer dresses sounds like any girl’s dream. But for Taylor Swift, it’s not necessarily something to be excited about.

“I’m in a predicament where I can’t wear a dress twice or else it’s pointed out in magazines,” she says in the December/January issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “So unfortunately I have to shop for dresses all the time.”

She does at least like them, though. “There’s just something so feminine about a dress,” she says. “Whether it’s a summertime dress that makes me feel carefree, an evening cocktail dress that makes me feel fancy or a vintage dress that makes me feel like a ’50s housewife — which I enjoy feeling like, for some reason — I just really like dresses.”

But there’s one in particular she’s always coveted. “I was 15 and going to prom for the first time, and I saw that picture of Gwyneth [Paltrow] in the pink [Ralph Lauren Oscar] gown,” she recalls. “I went all over the mall and showed it to all the store owners and said, ‘Do you have anything that looks like this?’ And no one did.”

For as much as she talks about fashion in magazines, though, Swift admits that she doesn’t talk clothes with friends, including fellow fashionistas Emma Stone and Selena Gomez. “We never talk about fashion, about career, about our ambitions or our projects,” she says. “We just talk about relationships, feelings, love and boys.” For more with Swift, visit harpersbazaar.com/taylorswift and pick up the December/January issue, on newsstands Nov. 27.

She looks so much better without the red lipstick! Love this neural look on her

And shoes (with a thicker heel) that she can actually walk with.

i just love her she is so cool i think she is awesome!!!

again...shut up on

I keep losing so much respect for her. Open your eyes lady, there is a great big world out there and nobody in it gives a flying hoo ha if you wear the same dress twice. It is clear that she has obtained stardom, maturity will come later, hopefully. Until then, she keeps being a hypocrite by being MEAN to the one’s she feels wronged her. You won, so stop dragging everyone through the Taylor Swift blame game.

Take a pointer from Kate Middleton. She re-wears dresses and she is praised for it.

maybe she should donate all those dresses if she isn’t going to wear them again

Oh give me a break, Taylor. The red carpet is not a rule for every day life. There is no reason whatsoever you can’t wear the same clothes in your every day life, and whining about it only makes you look even more arrogant and less connected with reality. Get over yourself. And everything else “again… shut up” said, because it’s dead on.

if wearing the same outfit is good enough for the Duchess of Cambridge then it ought to be good enough for Taylor Swift….perspective please taylor…give your dresses away to those less fortunate and not concerned with such a problem

She needs to learn NOT to care about what others think of her. Take Kate middleton for example. They’re constantly talking about her recycling outfits all the time. Yet she doesn’t let it bother her. Taylor just needs to be herself, and tell them all to stuff it, if they make a snide comment about her wearing the same thing twice or more!
