We Thought Michelle Obama's Debate Dress Looked Familiar ...

On Monday night we watched the third and final presidential debate for two reasons: To hear what the two candidates had to say (obviously) and because, like every other fashion-conscious woman in this country, we were curious to see what Michelle Obama was wearing. And we’re here to discuss the latter.

When the First Lady appeared on-screen, we immediately recognized the gray-and-black lace dress she was wearing. That’s because it’s the same custom Thom Browne design she chose for the night of President Obama’s Democratic National Convention speech last month.

Since Obama is no stranger to recycling her wardrobe (she’s been spotted in the same cobalt blue Preen outfit three times), she’s quite the pro at making an old look seem unique and fresh.

The first time the FLOTUS wore the frock, she went minimal with accessories (save for a pair of silver earrings). But last night, she dressed up the Thom Browne creation with a sparkly ribbon brooch and a black satin belt. Tell us: What do you think of Obama’s Thom Browne dress?

I think if Ann Romney had done this she’d be slammed for wearing the same thing twice. Just sayin’……

Maybe because Ann Romney would never do that. I think it is awesome she does that and she always looks great!!!

Ms. Cress why do you never report about how much money mrs. Obama spends on her clothes. Thousand dollar dresses are the norm, for her. I am glad she has managed to recycle her dress two or three times. We mortals wear the same clothes too often.

To Shea, you must be for Romney. Why would anybody slam Ann Romney for wearing the same thing twice. Don’t you wear your clothes more than once.

She is jst humbly..she represent her husband’s policy of “saving moni” no flashy flashy. classy style of dressing….she is simply nd straight to the point..I love her

To Catherine, you must also be for Romney. What difference does it make how much money she spends on her clothes. Have you ever thought that it’s her own money. Haven’t you seen where she shops for her clothes. I don’t think the Gap sells thousand dollar dresses. If she wants something special to wear she has the right to buy it. I would and if the truth be known so would you.

Why shouldn’t she wear her clothes more than once? It’s not like ‘we’ wear something once and then throw it away. Good for her!

DiAnn on

It looks like a shower curtain and her body shape doesn’t help it much.

Dear People Magazine, it’s a $3,000 custom dress, but I’m glad we get to admire her for wearing it twice.

Don’t really care for it, but to each their own.
