How Did Lourdes Leon Spend Her Summer Vacation?

Most of us spent our summers as camp counselors, store cashiers and babysitters. But when you’re Madonna‘s daughter, Lourdes Leon, your summer job is decidedly more glam: working in the wardrobe department of your mom’s massive summer MDNA tour.

“All of my friends were getting summer jobs and I wanted one too,” Leon explains in her latest blog post for her clothing line, Material Girl. “Mine was a little unconventional but still a great experience and a lot of fun.”

Leon hints that she spent a lot of time folding underwear, and posts some cool backstage pics from mom’s tour (above). But her biggest task? “Being in the wardrobe department meant me and a few other girls dressed the dancers during the show when they had quick changes,” she explains. “Thirty seconds to totally dress a sweaty dancer can be insane and provoke mucho anxiety. Doing this night after night was pretty cray, but I loved every minute of it.”

The 16-year-old got to travel the world (she lists Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Turkey as her favorite stops) and loved working on the tour, “traveling around like a family, setting up for an amazing show and all having the same purpose,” she writes. “To be able to be a part of such an inspiring production was one of my best summers so far.” Click over to Leon’s blog to see and hear more about her experience. Tell us: Are you jealous of Lourdes’s glam summer job?

If one of my parents’ were famous, I would beg for the chance to work somewhere within their team.

And also, having grown up in the dance industry.. Being 16 and seeing others or helping others get changed into different costumes is no big deal..

These comments are for the most part sickening. Madonna is not a monster, nothing in this article paints her daughter as anything but a mostly normal teenager.

Are all your children perfect? Never get into trouble? Do their chores, give everything they don’t need to the poor?

No I didn’t think so. Get off your damned pedestals please.

It’s amazing how, in a week when things like bullying leading to teen suicide takes center stage and everyone’s talking about it, people still take to the internet to post pure vile hatred. You think it’s not related? It is, None of these garbage negative comments are doing anything positive for the world.

Keep picking on a 16 year old girl. Makes you all look like fantastic people.

I think Lourdes working for her mother is fine. She gets to see her and make money working.

To Renee. I do volunteer and I do donate my clothes to my local shelter. I also work in the local church soup kitchen. I do donate my time and energy to as many charitable organizations as I can. I am allowed to speak my opinion on this internet site. Hint “Add a comment” You failed however to notice that I did give her props for being a productive teenager. You should read my post entirely. I did say that I thought the PR was done badly on her and that it could have been better That’s not her fault it is however the media wants to spin it. That is all.

Wow, Lourdes had a great vacation. Maybe her mother will consider adopting me? For a vacation like she had, I’ll be Lourdes big sister, and/or Madonna’s daughter.
