Jennifer Aniston‘s hair has changed lives — how could we ever forget “The Rachel”? — and now, the actress hopes to have an even bigger influence on the hair care industry, inking a deal as a spokesmodel and investor of Massachusetts-based product line Living Proof.

“Over the years, my hair has been subjected to everything … blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons, color, extensions, you name it. My hair has taken a serious beating,” Aniston says in a release. “After using these products, I felt like I finally discovered a solution that works every day. I could not be more excited to share Living Proof with the world.”

What sets Living Proof apart from other hair care brands is science: the line was founded in part by Dr. Robert Langer, a professor at MIT, and it uses real scientists to solve tough beauty problems (don’t worry, they’re still working to solve real scientific problems in their labs, too).

As part of the deal, Aniston will assist in development and marketing, and will collaborate with the brand’s stylists and scientists on new product ideas. According to the Wall Street Journal, the star was first sold on the 7-year-old line while filming in North Carolina and successfully using the frizz-fighting cream in the 100-percent humidity.

Living Proof hair care products are available at Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, QVC and on; Aniston’s campaign is expected to shoot in November and will go national shortly thereafter. Tell us: Is Aniston a good choice for a hair care brand? Will you check out the line because of her?

That product is horrible.

I was very interested but I cannot find a concrete answer concerning if they are cruelty free from LP. Livingproof is not listed on as a Cruelty Free company and when contacted they were very vague with their answer. :(

Yes!!! She has great hair. I love her. She would never put her name on anything she didn’t believe in herself. Go Jenn!

I love Jennifer’s hairstyle and always wanted her style for myself, but I can’t grow it because of medication that made my hair thin out and break off. So I came up with a great solution – I bought a “Jennifer Aniston” wig! Not really named after her, but it is a close representation of her hairstyle. It’s called “Haute” by Jon Renau and is a great wig that has a smart-lace natural hairline. Everyone is always shocked when I tell them it’s a wig and not natural and I’ve had so many people say that it looks like Jen’s hair. I’m sticking with wigs permanently because a) I like to sleep late in the morning and don’t want to spend time messing around with hair and b) I’d rather have a retirement fund than waste money on products and monthly haircuts. One good “Haute” lasts me a year before I need to replace it.
