The West is anything but wild in Amy Adams‘s first Boy. by Band of Outsiders ad. The actress stars in the brand’s fall campaign, wearing Western-inspired looks as she stands serenely in a woodsy setting.

In this Polaroid shot (left), the Oscar-nominated actress wears a long-sleeve maxi dress with a faded red-and-white plaid pattern. Quirky close-ups and extra-fun candids round out the campaign, which was shot (appropriately) at The Autry Museum in Glendale, Calif., a center that celebrates the American West.

Designer Scott Sternberg describes his fall collection as inspired by “prairie girl and evening Mexican goddess from El Topo.” So for a spokesmodel, “I was thinking of someone wholesome and American but also slightly off-kilter,” he tells “Basically [Adams] was at the top of the list.”

Obviously, she was game. “I love the Southwestern flair, because, being from Colorado, I’m drawn to clothes that feel like they were born from nature,” she adds to

Adams follows in the footsteps of Michelle Williams, who starred in the fashion house’s most recent campaign. Tell us: What do you think of Adams’s ad? Too cool, or too quirky?

I think Amy Adams is great in pretty much everything she wears. This is a fun shoot and the clothes look pretty on her.
