First Look: Nicole Richie for Macy's Impulse

If these sketches are any indication, Nicole Richie‘s Macy’s Impulse capsule collection is going to be super stylish — and very Richie.

Macy’s Inc. chief marketing officer, Martine Reardon, explained earlier this summer that the “bohemian chic” line will have a “very definitive look, very free style and … pay homage to [Richie’s] style” — and it seems that the affordable collection lives up to the description.

The first look (left) is a printed maxi with flowy sleeves, while the second number (middle) is a long-sleeved mini dress. The collection also includes pants and shirts as seen in the third sketch (right), but naturally, the pieces have a graphic pattern to adhere to Richie’s aesthetic.

The 24- to 30-piece Nicole Richie for Impulse collection debuts in mid-September and will be available at Macy’s stores and online. Tell us: Do you plan on shopping Richie’s newest line?

My concern is price and size. When these designers jump on the “I’m going to create my own fashion line” bandwagon, they never think about the different sizes of women or the cost.

I think the dresses look great, but I agree with Shirley that price and fit is almost certain to leave out the average woman.

Very pretty designs, good luck to Nicole Richie with her new collection! I probably won’t be buying it, though, but to the Ladies who do buy it, enjoy!

I agree with price & size with this new line. Even when I was a healthy, naturally skinny teen decades ago, I was never a size zero. Seems to be the size of many designer duds that I will never fit into even after I diet and exercise to a healthy and normal, average gal.

Hopefully she (along with other designers) realize that their missing out on a great and profitable target market. Just sell stuff in our size, dangit.

Is it made in the USA? If not, I’m not interested. I want to put OUR people to work, thank you!

i would actually not mind buying the minidress. The celebrity clothes at Macy’s tend to fit me and i am just an average size girl.

Love the short dress, but agree with most other remarks..will have to see what sort of price they carry. I realize you get what you pay for and I don’t buy cheap clothing. But I also can’t afford to drop a weeks salary on one dress.
