Lauren Conrad Styles Hospitalized Teens for the Holidays

11/30/2011 at 06:00 PM ET

‘Tis the season to go shopping! Lauren Conrad hit the mall recently, browsing racks stocked with the latest from her namesake line for Kohl’s. But she wasn’t shopping for herself — the former reality star was helping to style four teens from the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for the holidays.

“It’s really nice to be able to give back,” Conrad says in the clip above. “The feeling of giving a really good gift is so amazing … I can’t imagine getting a gift and feeling this way, especially with something like this.”

Conrad spent the day with the teens, giving them each a $500 gift card to shop, plus a stocking packed with beauty products and accessories. See more from the heartwarming day in the clip above. Tell us: Are you giving back this holiday season?

sadly, this looks just like an advertising pitch for kohls and her clothing line.

Advertising pitch or not, that is an experience those girls will never forget. Kudos to Lauren Conrad and Kohls for giving a special Christmas to some teen girls who deserve it.

I understand that it’s a charitable gesture and that’s the big picture, but what about a sick child’s daily life in the hospital is going to be helped by new clothes and make-up? These children need companionship and education, not eyeliner. Kohl’s and Lauren Conrad both missed the charity mark on this one…

@namemysrtstay These teenagers are in the hospital during the holidays. They are sick and can’t do what most kids their age are doing. They just want to feel like every other teenager out there. They want to experiment with their look. How do you know that they aren’t studying or have companionship? The article wasn’t about that topics. It was about Luaren and Khol’s doing a generous deed to make these kids feel as normal as possible.

Thanks to Lauren these teenagers had an experience that they will never forget. This was a generous act that Kohl and Lauren did and wouldn’t it be great if other celebraties did the same thing for other kids in the hospital or for kids that are in need.

Do you really think that this shopping spree/gifts cost her any money out of her pocket? I don’t think so!! This was a very nice commercial. Oh, and by the way, what about sending some food to those hungry people out on the streets of LA? I guess Kohl’s couldn’t make any money on that, huh?

This headline is extremely misleading and kind of confusing when you first read it.
