Ali Larter was so eager to chop several inches off of her hair recently that she took her tresses even shorter over the weekend. The actress paid another visit to stylist Andy LeCompte on Saturday, and debuted her chic and choppy look later that day at the Glad “One Bag” Tailgate in Los Angeles.

Though LeCompte recently said that “shorter hair is great for fuss-free styling,” Larter disagrees. Speaking to PEOPLE on Saturday during the Tailgate, Larter said her new look is “definitely” more work. “But it’s fun, too,” she countered. “It feels chic, and I love putting on clothes and kind of having a new look and experimenting with that. It’s like clothes, hair … you don’t take that stuff seriously. Have fun with it.”

Larter, who hasn’t had short hair since she was younger, said the cut was a way of “finding herself again” after welcoming son Theodore 10 months ago. “I’m excited to be fitting back in my clothes and going out,” she said. “I was excited for a change.” Tell us: What do you think of Larter’s short cut?

As always, she looks stunning! And if you weren’t blessed with beautiful hair, you’d believe that hair is a gift, too! I wish mine was as nice as hers, short or long!

better cut. not a mom cut at all. more chic than limp long typical hair. good for her!

Women are plagued with hair choices: short/long, curly/straight, bangs/no bangs, natural color/artificial color. We’ve all been through most of the variants by age 30.

I figured out you’re a grown up when you give up and realize Mother Nature probably gave you the best hair for your face.

She looks beautiful!!! I don’t think it ages her at all.

I think it looks fab-u-lous! She has beautiful features and this haircut flatters her. It’s hardly a “moms haircut”. Shorter hair does not equal Mom. It looks very chic.

she looks sexy as ever. love the style-makes her look young-id like to see that cut straight and chic the way jenny mcarthy did it

That is NOT short! But it looks great – much better than the before picture! She looks younger now.

I hate the term “mom haircut”. How come a haircut is cute and sassy when a woman is single, but she has a kid and suddenly it’s a “mom haircut”. It sounds like a major put down. So…all ladies over 40 with long hair are clinging desperately to their youth? Come on! Step up Ladies!!!
