JoAnna Garcia-Swisher Gets Real About Beauty

As a celebrity ambassador for The Mary Kay Inspiring Stories collaborative film project, it was JoAnna Garcia-Swisher‘s inner beauty that compelled her to unveil the truth about domestic violence. “Domestic violence affects one in four women nationwide,” she tells PEOPLE during a break from filming. “The statistics are staggering; it chooses no race, color or gender.”

And like many women, Garcia-Swisher’s daily routine, which now includes Mary Kay’s “Beauty That Counts” lipsticks, runs the gamut from budget to must-have to aspirational. Crediting her youthful glow to Clinique’s All About Eyes serum ($26), (“I swear to god it’s like an eyelift”), she also admits to the occasional splurge. “It is my favorite scent,” she says of Clive Christian X perfume, which comes with a price tag of $335. “It is a little pricey,” she admits, “but I am so lucky to get to try all types of beauty products.”

And despite her luxurious mane, which she recently graduated from trademark scarlet back to her natural blonde, some trends elude even the most “fearless” of beauty testers. “I don’t think I could pull off the feather in my hair,” she laughs of the summer’s celeb-loved hair accessory. And also like most women, her eyes sometimes outsize her, um, assets. “I would love to know what it feels like to have big boobs,” she confesses airily, “just for a day.”

Couldn’t agree more regarding the Futures Game. I was bmmeud that I had to switch between watching the Cubs and the young guys. Your solution makes perfect sense- day games on Sunday and then head into the break that same night, so you keep the excitement for baseball flowing right into the all star festivities. Also the previous winner of the WS should decide home field for the next year. Again, it makes sense,and it keeps things simple. Then the ASG can go back to being fun and for the fans. Right now it’s more like a MLB marketing device.
