Rachel Zoe Shares Her Top Style Tips

Thinking of wearing a kitten heel out this weekend? Ba-na-nas. According to Rachel Zoe, you have to stick to flats or go sky-high. And wide-leg jeans? So in. The celebrity stylist is sharing these gems and more in the September issue of Redbook, which features Zoe’s seven principles of style. Want some free advice from one of Hollywood’s fiercest fashionistas? Here are some tips:

Wide-leg jeans or boot-cut jeans are surprisingly flattering. “They really elongate the leg,” she tells the magazine. “People think they have to wear everything skin-tight to look smaller, but that’s just not the case. I wear my jeans with a vintage Chanel jacket and an LNA tee: It’s glamorous, but also really comfortable.”

Try a tuxedo jacket for fall if you’re feeling trendy. “It’s flattering for every size — and every age — and it can be worn seamlessly from work to a night out,” says Zoe.

Accessorize to boost your outfit impact. “It can turn a good outfit into a great one,” she says. “But edit — if you wear a necklace and earrings and a crazy bag and a crazy shoe, you’ll look like you have on a costume.”

When it comes to shoes, go high or low, just don’t go in between. “I like flats and I adore a high heel, but I don’t love a kitten heel,” she says. “It’s neither here nor there. And the one shoe I will never wear is sneakers.”

It must be fun for her to go to the gym and work out in heels!

Wait till her little boy starts running –
but Nanny will run

She doesn’t need to go to the gym….she starves herself.

I laugh at how these celebrities think their style is unique…they all dress they same for crying out loud!! They are slaves to the fashion industry. If If sneakers become a hot trend, she’ll wear them, guaranteed.

Dont know how i came upon this page, but now that im here i will comment. I Do Not like her style at all. To tell you the truth i find it quite tacky. Sorry just my opinion. Oh well not everyone can have good taste i guess.

It would be amazing to hear how to be fashionable while we are doing what most of us have to do all day. That would be a refreshing approach! Looking good everyday is always my goal. There is little regard for that in Rachel Zoe’s comments. She would be wildly popular if she could address both worlds (the one she moves through and the more common).

@lola Sneakers have been in for the past two seasons! Prada showed a espadrille-brogue hybrid. Do you have pictures of Zoe in those? Why are you even in this site if you don’t know a thing about fashion and I presume, style?

Pooey, she is full of herself

I just don’t get it. How can a person NEVER wear sneakers? Now granted, I am not a Fashionist, but how does this chic walk? How does she move? What if she were to go to a very trendy gym? Then would she wear sneakers? I just don’t understand!

She doesn’t work out. She just starves herself.

I feel vindicated. I don’t own a pair of sneakers, either. I wear ballet flats instead for running around, which are very comfortable, or go barefoot (also very comfortable). There’s just something about sneakers that are unpleasant to look at.

Really? well,, in the REAL World us Mommies cannot do the daily grind in 3+ inch heels sooooooo on that note-she’s neither believable or certainly realistic.I take offense to the whole kitten heel topic as I have seen another Magazine state the same thing– get this ZOE: these little heels are #1 practical #2 look fabUlous w/ dark jeans and #3 add a little class and height without breaking our legs all the while as we grocery shop/do laundry / mop/taxi/etc….. Plus–I am starting to dislike all these models/fame mongers who have made it impossible for the Normal Woman to get dressed–I mean the prices they say are for a “budget” ??? Please stop bashing the heels! I love em’ and I’ve got Prada to prove it!

Why people can be so negative and cruel , she is a fashion designer period like other people has other talents for other things she is free to express her view as an artist , why we can express our opinion without bullying ???
Rachael you are a great artist and I think you have a unique interpretation of fashion and remember people if you don’t have any positive to say better don’t say nothing
