Sarah Palin Hair Salon Reality Show

Her hair was the topic of much debate during the 2008 presidential campaign, and now, the salon responsible for Sarah Palin’s signature styles is the subject of a new TLC reality show, Big Hair Alaska. Premiering this fall, the two-part special on the Beehive Beauty Shop “goes inside a busy hair salon in Wasilla, AK, where the personalities of the owner and her staff are as big as the hairstyles they create,” according to TLC.

The 1,400-sq.-ft., bright pink salon was featured in a 2008 profile in the New York Times, which delved into Palin’s hairstyle evolution. “She’s very involved in her look and how she’s perceived,” Beehive owner Jessica J. Steele told the paper. “We would talk a lot about how if she looked too pretty or too sexy, people wouldn’t listen to her. How important it was for people to see her as an intelligent, smart woman. It was comical when her hair was down, how big a difference that would make, especially when she was running for governor.”

In fact, when Palin did announce her bid for governor, Steele called her into the salon, where the pals tried side-swept bangs, curls and even blonde streaks. “We just kept polishing her look,” Steele said. “We would try more warm, red and coppery highlights or more of a contrast with pale highlights, not to be severe but just more striking.”

But as Palin’s star began to rise, so did her hair. Updos helped give the petite politico some extra height, and according to Steele, “Sarah wanted to look more professional and ready to work and not come across as high maintenance and fussy.” Tell us: Will you tune into Big Hair Alaska?

i wonder where they will put the camera?
im guessing they will put it near the trough they use to occupy the pigs, while they put lipstick on them.

This makes me very sad for the Human Race.

I will definitely be watching it, and hope its a huge success, if for no other reason than to pi$$ off you liberals. It has to be better than the silly shows liberals love so much.

I was shocked when I was told TLC was back in town to film another reality show at The Beehive this time. What could be so interesting there? I have never gone there because I’ve have not heard the best of reviews, but I’m sure they can’t be that interesting to where they need a show. I know the ONLY reason they have it is because Sarah Palin goes there when in town and she happened to mention it once durning her campaign run. I know Levi Johnston had a reality TV camera crew here last summer, but that seems to have disappeared real quick(Thankfully!). Sarah had her show, now Bristol..Who’s next?? I hope Wasilla isn’t becoming the new Jersey with a reality TV show everywhere you look. I like it here because its quiet. Lets keep it that way and not make ourselves look like fools on TV. I don’t think I’ll be watching.

I have been a hairdresser forever and I absolutely love Sarah Palin! I still cannot imagine finding much enjoyment watching a show about a salon in AK. I can only hope for their sake, the salon has some extremely entertaining individuals working there. I’ll usually do anything once so I’ll watch. Just can’t promise I’ll be a regular viewer. Good luck to you though.

Let’s just put Wasilla back to sleep and walk away.

I would watch the show. It beats Jersey Shore. Sad to say but it seems that SP threatens woman. Call her dumb all you want – shes still smarter than you and idiot Obama
