Would You Wear Bold Eyes and Lips Like Gwen Stefani?

As far as bright red lips and platinum hair go, Gwen Stefani has that market — or red carpet, if you will — cornered. She pulls this one-two beauty punch off whether she’s playing in the park with sons Zuma and Kingston or hitting a fancy fundraiser. But for a recent Cannes Film Festival movie screening, she upped the ante by pairing her standbys with sparkling navy blue eye shadow and what looks to be multiple sets of false lashes. We always follow the rule of focusing on eyes or lips, never both, but with Stefani it seems okay to break these age-old directives. What do you think? Tell us: Would you pair a dramatic smokey eye with bright lipstick?

I don’t have the eyes for it, but if I looked like Gwen Stefani, absolutely.

I’m a huge fan of bold lips already, but only when paired with a more subtle eye. I don’t think I would want to do both – it always seems too much! However, if I had a red carpet event to attend and a professional make-up artist on-call to create a perfect smokey eye, I suppose I could be convinced!

Yes, totally, but only if done professionally. I know if I did it myself I’d end up looking like The Joker.

I love this look! Gwen commands attention. It takes confidence, but if you have got it, flaunt it.

Gwen can pull off pretty much anything and look stunning. However I do feel this look is a little excessive. People will see only makeup at this point instead of her actual beautiful features. It’s definitely a statement, I’m just not sure it’s the right one.
