Miranda Kerr: I'm Most Comfortable in My Knickers

Miranda Kerr Style

Miranda Kerr’s flawless post-baby body has everyone a little jealous. The Victoria’s Secret Angel, mom to son Flynn, 4 months, with husband Orlando Bloom, bounced right back after giving birth, even hitting the runway in a Paris fashion show. But it didn’t come without a lot of hard work — and some mixed emotions. “I felt a little nervous,” Kerr told PEOPLE recently of her return to the runway. “I hadn’t been in high heels for a while. It was probably a good five months since I’d worn heels, but it was kind of like riding a bicycle.” Such is life for the Aussie model, who’s since been spotted in teeny-weeny bikinis and gorgeous red carpet gowns. “My hips are wider, and my boobs are obviously bigger,” she said. “I feel like I’ve become more of a woman now, and I’m really embracing those curves.” Growing up, Kerr didn’t necessarily embrace all parts of herself — including her hair. She counts perming her hair, in an effort to emulate Julia Roberts, among her biggest beauty disasters. “She had curly, wavy, beautiful hair and I wanted that,” she said. “The perm didn’t really turn out that way. It was a trend in the ’80s that I fell for, I guess.” Calling Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn her icons, the model mom says she’s most comfortable when she’s “just in knickers,” hanging around the house with Bloom and Flynn. “People have come to the house and I’m just in my knickers,” she reveals. “[But] I feel like it’s more appropriate to have knickers on than being completely naked.” Read more about Kerr’s beauty and fashion picks in the May 23 issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands now. I can really do without shallow, self-centered comments like this coming from a model. “Stories” like this one is why I have stopped buying People mags. Come on, People, what happened to interesting stories about REAL women?

Oh goodness. Of course she feels the most comfortable in her “knickers”…she models underwear for a living. Why wouldn’t she say that? She wants everyone thinking about her in Victoria’s Secret products. Not to mention…she just wants attention…like “here I am world…i’m hot and I only like to be in panties and i want you to picture me in them.” You don’t hear anyone else…whether good-looking or not…announcing what they wear. You just want attention!!! Why don’t you go take care of your baby and not worry about telling people about your attire???

I’m guessing that they asked her when she’s most comfortable. I don’t think she just out of the blue said it. Come on!! I hate women bashing other women.

If your uncomfortable in your underwear then you are wearing them wrong.

I love myself and I want you to know it. I love myself and I’m awesome.
I don’t need validation from anyone to feel good about me.
I’m not jealous of anyone because I don’t put anyone above me.
I value myself at the highest standards.

It’s amazing to read posts criticizing Miranda Kerr for 1) being in great shape 4 months after having her baby, 2) marrying someone she loves, who happens to have money, 3) answering honestly the questions asked by an airhead reporter.

I walked out of the hospital, after having my first child, wearing a slim-fitting dress I wore before I got pregnant and I weighed 115 lbs. I felt just fine about it, and frankly, few of my friends chose to gain 65 lbs and take the rest of their lives to lose the weight while they criticized the women who gained a sensible amount of weight and lost it quickly. I did the same thing after having my second child. My daughter was back in a size 4 after having her son. The other one gained 50 lbs, didn’t lose it and gripes about how she can’t lose the baby-weight from her 7 yr. old. Wake up and smell the coffee, people. She isn’t “bragging” any more than I am. We just did things differently and you need to stop acting like if peopledon’t become obese while pregnant, and lose weight in a short period of time, they aren’t being rude or obnoxious; she’s being interviewed and she answered the questions.
she is also taking care of her baby and breast-feeding, as well. What could possibly be your complaint about that?
Honestly, if Orlando Bloom asked me to marry him, I would have to say yes, except for the fact I’m already married, LOL. He is gorgeous! Can’t we, as women, be proud of women who take care of themselves, and seem to have a good life instead of being so jealous?

I agree with you, Marky!
What’s wrong with having self- confidence and taking care of your body? Getting pregnant is NOT an excuse to live an unhealthy lifestyle. Instead of bashing her, why don’t you all go work out and eat well? You don’t have to be a supermodel to feel beautiful and comfortable! There are too many women that let themselves go after having kids and make excuses such as “Oh she is so rich, she can afford nannies and she’s got time to work out”. Ladies, stop making excuses and get off your butts!!If you have time to write posts then you also have have time to do crunches at home!

Interesting & good to hear, she had every right to be a little nervous, etc.
