It’s only been a few days since Prince William and Kate Middleton became husband and wife, but hours after the Duchess walked down the aisle in her stunning Alexander McQueen wedding dress, there was already another version in the works! A.B.S. by Allen Schwartz, a label known for whipping up less-expensive versions of favorite red carpet frocks in record time, created a lookalike of the famous dress just 12 hours after the wedding. The gown, which bears a striking resemblance to the royal wedding gown worn by Middleton, was created by a team of 35 people who drew out the sketches, chose the fabrics and sewed the gown together. Schwartz tells Today that among the most significant challenges of creating the masterpiece with such a quick turnaround time were perfecting the triple-mesh veil, which was sewn to a tiara, and beautifying the eight yards of fabric in the skirt, topped in the back with a bustle. The dress will retail for about $800 and will be available in select Lord & Taylor stores this July. For those looking to channel the sophisticated look of Middleton’s sister Pippa, you’re in luck: the brand plans to create a version of her buzzed-about white McQueen maid of honor look as well. Tell us: Would you walk down the aisle in the lookalike gown? –Kim Peiffer

I’d buy a knockoff of the 2nd dress she wore!

That’s nice, good luck with it! Also, if I were a Girl, I’d definitely walk down The Aisle in Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress! Also, it’s nice they’re creating a Pippa Middleton look as well, good luck with that as well! Also, as far as Holly Montag and Justin Brescia Dating, whatever! But, what would Audrina Patridge say about that?

I just wanted to wish David Beckham a Happy Birthday!

Lovely copy, but I’ve never understood why anyone would want to get married in a copy of someone elses famous dress. Shouldn’t a woman want to look more individual on her wedding day? I certainly did.

“strikingly similar resemblance”

i can’t believe the person that penned this article writes for a living.

If I was young and slim and in shape like kate, I most definitely would. Would probably add my own personal touch to it somwhere as well.

The second dress was gorgeous!! Get me a knock off of that one!!!

I thought her dress was beautiful, but I’d rather have my own style for my wedding to suit my tastes, so no knock-off for me! (Of course, I’m already married, anyway, so it’s a bit of a moot point.)

While I am hoping her dress brings out more dresses with sleeves, being sick of all sleeveless that does not look well unless you are slim, I wouldn’t wear that exact look. I did wear a copy but of a 1920’s antigue lace over satin with a lace chemise over the simple top for my wedding. NO one had ever seen one like it, except in Cosmo magazine. It was champagne lace and satin with a ribbom tied in a bow at the waist with a cluster of flowers there. Very unique and everyone wants to borrow it but it needs a figure like Kate’s to pull it off, which I had back then.
