Hilary Duff Cites Reason for Constant Hair Changes: Boredom!

When it comes to her hair, Hilary Duff has been experimenting with the color wheel lately. But the newlywed star — who recently went back to blonde after going brunette (and cutting bangs) — has an explanation for all of the quick changes: boredom. “I was like ‘I’m bored and I like wanted to dye my hair really really blonde,’ and then I got scared — and then it turned out really blonde,” she told PEOPLE at the The Beauty Detox Solution book launch party in West Hollywood on Wednesday. “I haven’t been this blonde and my sister’s like calling me Lizzie [McGuire] which is so funny,” she says, referring to her star-making role on the Disney Channel. “I’m like, ‘No please don’t call me that!’ [But] it might just be that I feel like I’m really blonde because I haven’t been in so long.” While experimenting with her color recently, Duff just couldn’t get it exactly like she wanted it. “I was at the salon two days a week for the past two weeks and it was driving me crazy. But you know when you’re just not happy? You’re like, ‘I need this tweaked and fixed,’ and so it was just me being mental,” she admits. But no matter how “mental” she becomes about her hair color, Duff says hubby Mike Comrie loves her regardless. “He loves me blonde,” she says, “but when we met I had brown hair so I think he loves me anyway.” Lucky gal! i think the boredom is with her hair, natalie…it has nothing to do with her being married at 22….does everyone not remember that our ancestors got married real young….god some of you people are such hyprocrites. my parents got married at 19 and trust me they didn’t get bored with each other…so everyone get off your high horse and leave Hilary Duff alone. I think she is great with whatever color she dyes her hair

I wanted to ask, “Why do critics read articles like these and then post comments?” But then I realized in our world today, we need them in order to grow tougher skin and to be better. Also, to learn how to ignore people. I like Hilary Duff. I think she is beautiful. It isn’t easy to allow yourself to be the criticism of so many people in an article with the last sentence asking, “what do you think?”

Truthfully, I think the blonde hair color does make her look more innocent, but that is how we were introduced to her. However, that does not mean she is Lizzie on Disney. She still has that “Girl next door” feel to her and that to me isn’t a bad thing.

I like that she keeps it fresh.

I think it’s sad that we’re talking about her hair changes, instead of her acting career. What happened there? Do we really need to know every little things that actors and actresses do.. really? And saying ‘like’ all the time is a junior high/high school thing to do. Crazy. She’s older than that, right?

Meeeow, ladies. Jealous much?! She’s beautiful.

She’s a young millionaire…what else has she got to worry about? She’s lucky and that’s good for her! Oh, and I like her better as a blonde. :)

She is so adorable! My sister can pull off any color she wants too and I get so jealous! Love the blonde and love Hilary!

I wonder how many times Hilary Duff can say the word “like”

You people have got to be kidding about high-schoolers being the ones who say “like” all the time. I am a well-educated person with friends who have Master’s Degrees and I hear “like” every 3 words from some of them. It just becomes a habit for quite a few people. Irritating, but not the end of the world, and certainly not worse than the rudeness some of you have in constantly criticizing others for every little thing.

Hillary seems to be a nice young woman who is more mature than many her age, and just enjoys having fun with her hair style and color. She looks great, no matter what she does with it. As for getting married at 22, my nephew married at 21 and seems to be doing fine 7 years later, is published, and working on his Ph.D. Not everyone who is 22 is an airhead.
