Gwyneth Paltrow Bares Her Bikini Body for SELFCourtesy SELF

Though she admits to loving food — and eating lots of it, too — Gwyneth Paltrow happily flaunts her fabulous bikini body on the May cover of SELF. In an interview about her new cookbook, My Father’s Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family & Togetherness, the actress opens up about her eating habits — she went macrobiotic for a while after her dad, Bruce, was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998 — and shares some of her favorite recipes. But getting a swimsuit-ready figure hasn’t necessarily been easy for the Country Strong star. “I never thought that I’d be considered to have a good body,” she admits. “I was bony up top and kind of dumpy on the bottom. But my trainer, Tracy Anderson, completely changed my legs, butt, arms and stomach. I feel better than ever, too.” Paltrow, who does 45 minutes of cardio five days a week, supplements her workouts with “muscular structure work” — toning, realigning and lengthening. Throughout the day, she fuels with raw almonds, coconut water and juices, but doesn’t deny her cravings, either. “I say I always eat right, but last night, I had fried clams, pasta with duck sausage and two glasses of red wine,” she admits. “When I want to lose, I eat less pasta, bread and potatoes.” Calling her butt her problem area, the actress says she skips workouts when she’s on vacation, but enjoys feeling strong and healthy after breaking a sweat. “I saw a shot of myself in Barbados and was, like, all my hard work paid off,” she shares. “I’m 38, I have two kids, and I feel good.” For more on Paltrow’s diet and exercise routine, pick up the May copy of SELF or visit

gwyneth looks good but i’m sure we all could look equally as good if we had the time, the millions of dollars and the help from personal chefs, personal trainers, nannies, stylists/makeup artists like she does.

i’m sorry but i do not buy the “eat lots of it, too” part.

People can eat a lot of food and still be thin. Jealous… party of one, Jaclyn.

They basically can eat what they want.. but they just want to eat at all.
Why are noodles or potaoes or whine you must “confess”?

Wow so much bitterness!!!
First off she looks great….and I am if it was the reverse and she didn’t you all would be saying mean comments about how she looked….let herself go…Being in her field I am sure she’s got lots of pressure to look a certain way for roles….her ad campaign.
Second in repsonse to I would look that good if I had her time and millions….I hate that reasoning because it’s such a cop out.
You don’t need tons of money or a lot of time to look great. I get up at 5 am every weekday morning to work out at 6 for about an hour doing a boot camp through work.
In regards to her eating….I am sure she doesn’t eat fried foods every day and I don’t think she is even saying that above. It’s OK to splurge, so long as its not every day and the portions are controlled.
Fact is…most people can make the time to work out..It’s about making working out as important as eating and sleeping. If one has time to read people articles….then you can find the time to work out.
It doesn’t have to be gym. Put some sneakers on and get out there and walk or run do push ups, jumping jacks…anything that gets your heart pumping. Have kids? Take them with you on a walk….make it a family effort.

Sorry JOAnnA…all the money & time in the world won’t give you a great body without the motivation to get-r-done. I’ll be 57 in May, work out 6 evening a wk, weigh 110 lbs and have 20% body fat and still look hot in a bikini. And yes, I work full time, have a husband, a dog, 3 cats, a rabbit & a house to take care of too. People today are just plain LAZY!

She looks incredible. I had twins recently and so I bought the Tracy Anderson Post Pregnancy DVD and I love it. It works. Not sure if I’ll ever have as slim of a figure as Gwyneth, but I’m definitely seeing great results by doing the DVD.

Why is it that people always say I would look like that too if I had a chef, trainer etc.? You CAN look like that without all of those things – run outside, walk outside, lunges, squats, pushups – just get moving and have portion control when eating -barring any medical issues it is possible without being a millionaire. (And some people just have good metabolism and do not have to do any of the above. They are lucky!)
