What takes 150 hours to make, has 10,000 crystals, weighs two lbs. and will be worn by one of Hollywood’s bubbliest blondes? No, it’s not a riddle –- it’s the custom Swarovski red dress and heart-themed necklace that Julianne Hough will be modeling in Wednesday’s Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection Fashion Show. While Hough told PEOPLE at her recent fitting at the N.Y.C. Swarovski showroom that her necklace “feels light on”, she does admit to just the slightest bit of jitters at walking in the star-studded show (fellow models include Audrina Patridge and Giuliana Rancic). “This is my first time walking a catwalk in a runway show. I’m a little nervous but I think I can do it.” Hough jokes that it’s different than her years on Dancing with the Stars because “you have to walk. As long as I’m jumping around, moving my hips, I’m good, but walking in a straight line might be a little difficult.” At least she loves what she’s wearing on the catwalk, calling the shimmering Swarovski crystal necklace and matching satin gown designed by Swarovski Creative Director Nathalie Colin “pretty unbelievable.” But it was the cause behind Red Dress Heart Truth (hearth health for women) and the partnership with Swarovski that drew the Footloose star in. Besides, Hough laughs, “It makes sense. They’re really glitzy and glam-y, and so am I.” Shop for pieces from Swarovski’s Heart Truth collection, inspired by Julianne’s couture piece, on swarovski.com! –Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

@ARose – People.com is notorious for its bad writing/writers and poor editing.

The dress is beautiful – the necklace should have been toned down. There is too much going on with the pleating along the side – you don’t know where to look. SOmetimes less is more – especially if you have an attractive girl modeling it you do not need to overdo it.

Just more opulence and rich people. How many people could the cost of this “necklace” help?
I like her, just against the throwing away of money on “fashion”

Love your beautiful skin without spray tan! The dress design is beautiful and elegant.

JoAnn-for christ sakes-do YOU spend money on yourself or should every penny you have be donated to charity? Good lord-not everything has to be donated or given to charity.I am sick and tired of hearing everytime something happens or is bought or extravagent people say ‘oh it should have been spent on something else.’

The dress is made for a taller person like Nicole Kidman. Julianne is a cute girl, but this is the wrong dress for her.

Looks tacky.

Love Julianne, love Swarovski..not so much the dress. It does seem to be too much for her petite body.

JoAnn, did you even read the article?? She didn’t throw away any money. The dress was designed for a fashion show for the Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection. A lot of people will pay a lot of money to attend this show and that money will go to help the fight against women’s heart problems. God people are critical.
