Katie Holmes Gets (and Takes!) Fashion Advice from Daughter Suri Courtesy Elle

At age 4, Suri Cruise is already a seasoned fashionista. Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s daughter has been spotted in everything from Burberry dresses to silver pumps. And it turns out that she’s not only picking out her own clothes, but she’s not afraid to give her famous parents style pointers. “She’ll really tell me [what she thinks],” Holmes told ELLE.”“Like today I’m wearing brown suede pants, and she said, ‘I don’t like your pants.’ But then she’ll say, ‘You’ve got to wear these shoes.’ Or ‘That’s so pretty, Mom. Wear that.’ She’s got a great eye.” The actress, who co-designs her own clothing line, Holmes & Yang, has obviously passed on her flare for fashion to Suri and the two are often spotted shopping together. “The other day we came out of a store, and she said, ‘I want to go there,’ pointing at another store quite a distance away,” Holmes notes. “In that store was the dress that she wanted. I said, ‘Wow, Suri. You’re something. You picked that out from a football field away.'” To read more from Katie’s cover interview, go to elle.com. — Alla Byrne

Wow. Nothing like an over-indulged toddler to run your life. Can’t wait to hear how she is as a teenager.

Sickening. A child should be just that, a child. Not put in heels. What kind of parenting is that? How about teaching a 4yr old that being privileged means you can give back to others like giving toys to other little ones instead of shopping for dresses worth hundreds of dollars at age 4.

They always talk about her like she’s an adult. If you didn’t know that she was only 4, you would have no idea from reading this.

Wow, everyone here’s a bunch of haters. First off, none of you know whether her parents actually do make her give her old toys and clothes away and secondly, anyone having taken a child development course will tell you that you should speak to a child like an adult (within reason) as that is the way to raise a healthy, independent individual instead of a bratty, codependent child. The kid has an eye for fashion, if it were barbies no one would care. Leave her alone.

Too Funny Magnolia! That is exactly what I was thinking! Suri? You mean future LiLo

LOVE LOVE TOMKAT and their beautiful, smart and talented children. Though, want to hear about Conner and Isabel just as much as beloved, GOD SEND SURI.

People get a grip! GOD! Tomkat is just another doting parent like the rest of us who believe our children can do no wrong. But you know, in the end ALL PARENTS THINK THE WORLD OF THEIR CHILD.
Didn’t I just read recently that Sunday rose kidman urban was writing music, singing and dancing at age 3.

Sadly, I have to say I think we all know Suri is a train wreck waiting to happen. You cannot let a child run the show and live without limits – without realizing that she will demand (and probably get…..)the same deal as a teenager. Treating a child with respect is NOT the same as treating them as if they are a mini-adult. Get your child-psychology straight.

Hmmmm. I gotta agree with Lisa P. I’m all for talking to and teaching a child to be independent. But, my gosh, where is the “4 year old” in her? It’s borderline creepy. Precious little girl though.
