Kate Middleton gave her blessing to another designer Saturday when she attended her first official outing with Prince William since the engagement. The princess-to-be strolled confidently into the charity gala event to aid Teenage Cancer Trust in a cream and black silk chiffon ‘Titan’ dress by British designer Alice Temperley, showing off its beaded decorative collar, but hiding the three-quarter length puffed sleeves under a fitted black jacket. “The dress has a very flattering cut,” a spokesperson for the designer told PEOPLE, adding, “I’m not sure where she got it. She must have bought it.” Temperley, who is known for her elegant, feminine designs, has three stand alone boutiques in London, L.A. and N.Y.C., but fashionistas won’t be able to buy into this look of Kate’s: the £895 ($1393) dress, from the Temperley London’s fall 2009 collection, has completely sold out. –Liz Corcoran

Please…..almost $1400 for a dress?….for one occasion? …and it’s not even a ball gown or wedding gown? No wonder the Brits are all over the Royals for spending so much money!

Wow it’s an expensive dress but she will be princess. She has an image to up hold. I like the dress.

She’s not a “royal”….yet…so the Brits shouldn’t get their panties in a twist. Designers offer their clothing to celebrities knowing they will benefit from the publicity when they are photographed.

She is lovely with style and class and will make a beautiful Princess and Queen someday. Diana would be very happy with her son’s choice.

Carrie on

I love the neckline of this dress and the 3/4 sleeves are beautiful.

I like The PHOTO, that’s nice to hear, sorry Ladies can’t buy it since it’s all sold out, though, but it’s nice! Also, I’m glad Tracy Morgan is recovering from his Kidney Transplant, I also wish him a speedy recovery as well!

Those question marks for eyebrows and that dress,
I think it was hanging on the clearance rack at K-Mart.

If you want to see how a lady dresses, lets talk Cindy McCain.

Lori on

I am sure she paid for it… or it was given to her by the designer. The public does not pay for royal clothing, so why does anyone care what it cost?

Kim on
