Fans of The Devil Wears Prada love to hate Emily Blunt‘s neurotic, die-for-fashion character; but in real life, the self-deprecating star is far from high-strung when it comes to her personal style. “I never have any idea [about what I’m wearing],” she confesses to Harper’s Bazaar UK. “I’ll look at several things and make a choice. But I’m much more excited by fashion than I was before The Devil Wears Prada.” In fact, working with stylist and designer Patricia Field on that movie changed her perception: “I could finally see how artistic and an extension of someone’s personality fashion can be.” Emily graces the magazine’s January issue, resplendent in a blue fringed Tom Ford dress, among a host of 70s glamour-inspired outfits by Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. No one would ever guess from the gorgeous multi-page spread that looking good didn’t always come naturally for the English beauty. “I used to look like a deer in headlights on the red carpet,” the straight-talking actress admits. “You step out of the car and it’s bedlam. Everyone’s got crazy eyes. Now, I have a martini before I leave – just to take the edge off it.” With two huge movies (Gulliver’s Travels and The Adjustment Bureau) to promote, we’re sure the newlywed will look radiant on the red carpet. I love her… she’s beautiful, classy, and a great actress as well. Very natural.

Great example to set. Why doesn’t just smoke a blunt?

julb on

i hate her for marrying John Krasinski. he’s waaaayy too good for her..

@jumbybird – Last I checked alcohol wasn’t an illegal substance, so why compare her saying she has A martini to smoking a joint? Dramatic much?

Fell in love with her after The Young Victoria. Very beautiful and talented woman!

Emily is beyond being beautiful! I met her at a screening and party, and she is really charming, very down to earth, and vibrant! she appears to be very much in love, with her husband, and is very talented! I highly recommend “The Young Victoria” of which is indeed a Fab film, and very much a womans film.

Canada Girl on

HATE her…she broke Michael Buble’s heart!

Interesting to hear, I like The PHOTOS, and Emily Blunt looks great on The January Issue of Harper’s Baazar!

Another Canadian GIrl on

Hey Canada Girl, you need to re-check your information. She did not break Michael Buble’s heart, more like he broke hers-by cheating on her! And if you do your research you find that there were photo’s to prove it. The guy was a jerk and she is a lovely girl who is much better off without him.

Agustina on

@Canada Girl: She didn’t break Michael Bublé’s heart. He cheated on her.
