Marc Jacobs not only started his show on time this season, at 7:59 p.m.—possibly one minute ahead of schedule Monday at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York—but as usual, he also delivered an impactful elegant show, like clockwork. “I don’t think I’m ready for what I’m about to see,” said The Rachel Zoe Project‘s Brad Goreski on his way into the venue. “It’s always so dramatic and beautiful. He’s a master.” Noticeably absent from Marc’s front row this season were the usual slew of celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé, but one star who almost missed the beautifully-executed presentation of colorful blousy dresses and glam suiting was a Marc Jacobs-clad Courtney Love—arriving late to the N.Y.C. venue in a subdued green leather dress, and just in time to catch the very last bit of the collection. “I loved the colors. They’re amazing,” she told PEOPLE backstage after the show, responding with a decided “yes” when asked if there were any pieces that she might wear. And while Love draped her arm around the designer, Simon Doonan, creative director at Barneys New York, explained how Marc Jacobs manages to outdo other designers each season. “Marc knows how to magnify things,” said Doonan. “He’s a very experienced guy. He knows what he’s doing.” –Jeffrey Slonim
