Marking her first beauty contract, Carrie Underwood is announcing in New York City this morning that she’s been named Olay Skin Care’s first-ever North American celebrity ambassador. And for the five-time Grammy award winner, who has been using Olay products for “at least a decade now,” there couldn’t be a better brand to break into the beauty business with. “As a little girl I remember my mom always using the original Olay Beauty Fluid and encouraging my sisters and I to take care of our skin. I love that Olay has managed to change with the times, yet stay in touch with women of all ages who want affordable skin care products that do what they promise,” Carrie says in a statement. The country music superstar, who is about to kick-off her “Play On Tour” this fall, will appear in print and television ads for Olay’s “Challenge What’s Possible” campaign, scheduled to debut later this year. Check back for an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview with Carrie. Tell us: What do you think of Carrie Underwood’s new role as Olay Ambassador?–Andrea DeSimone

If people used Olay in their 20s, maybe they wouldn’t have to worry about their skin in the 40s. Carrie is the perfect spokesperson for any beauty product. With all the makeup she has to wear on stage, it’s amazing that she has such beautiful skin. If it’s Olay that does that, that tells me a lot.

Why do so many celebrities who are big animal lovers (like Carrie who is a vegetarian) choose to become representatives of companies that conduct animal testing? Same with Ellen Degeneres and Covergirl. It just doesn’t make sense to me.

Frankly, I just get so annoyed when any “star” is made a spokesman for anything. It just cranks the prices higher and higher so us regular folk can hardly afford it. Nothing again Carrie, WHY does it have to be a big name? I’d rather see Molly next door and have the price lowered by $5+ bucks!

I like Carrie’s new role as Olay Ambassador, best of luck to her!

I see the jealous, crotchity b*tches are out making posts on this fine morning. You know who you are, no need for me to explain. Carrie is a beautiful person inside and out. Good for her.

I expect that if Carrie continues to sing and use Olay, we’ll all see the results of both as the years proceed. Carrie is beautiful in every way.

Oh come on, she’s in her 20’s!!!

She’s beautiful, but too young!! Come on Oil of Olay give it to a 40 or 50 year old who doesn’t wear a ton of make-up. Some of us like a more natural look.

Good grief’s advertising. There have been many faces of Olay over the years from 30-50 years of age. Wasn’t Ellen Degeneres (who is either close to or over 50) recently a face of Olay for some of their products last year? Jacqueline Smith…the list goes on. And they aren’t advertising that if you’re 50 you’ll look like Carrie. Lighten up. They’re promoting their entire product line.

Excellent choice.
