The Secret of Audrina Patridge's 'Hills' Wardrobe: Never Wear Anything Twice!

Ever wonder why the cast members of The Hills were always spotted shopping? It turns out that they had to keep re-stocking their wardrobes for filming! Audrina Patridge recently revealed to Britain’s Daily Mirror that the starlets of the former reality show were never allowed to repeat outfits on camera. “We were only allowed to wear things once for continuity,” said the stylish star. “They’d take a picture and then I’d never be able to wear that outfit again.” Her favorite one-time wear item? “The best things I wore on the series were a pair of thigh high Lanvin boots,” she said. But footwear isn’t her only designer indulgence. The reality starlet also bought a $5,000 Chanel surfboard! “I’m using it as decor in my bedroom until I get really good at surfing,” she explained. “It’s too pretty to risk chipping it.” And while Patridge established herself as a trendsetter on the show, she said her casual-chic aesthetic wasn’t planned. “I wasn’t trying to be a style icon,” she said. “I’d usually just throw on a T-shirt and jeans.” To hear more of Audrina’s interview, check out –Mussarat Bata

I must have missed something b/c I didn’t know she was a style icon! Reality shows are not reality bc really who else other than that dummy Paris Hilton would say I only wear clothes once and toss them.

Am I reading the same article as everyone else? Doesn’t sound like she is bragging, more like stating a fact. It wasn’t her choice, it was a wardrobe like any other series – no repeat outfits. Like her or hate her, she was treated like a little fashionista – like that whole cast was.

I try not to wear the same thing in the same week much less ever! Wow!!

I like Audrina but reality is what her life was like before she did that fake show. Not everyone can only wear clothing one time , but when the Show pays for it -why not?

But what does this teach the young kids of today? They strive to be like Paris, Audrina etc wanting everything they see and expecting it. That isn’t reality..reality is a struggling Family trying to pay bills and keep their kids heads on straight and hopefully be able to pay for an education. Hard to do with the Bull that Hollywood dishes out , that life is about what you look like and what you wear.
Lets adore her in her jeans and t-shirts. That is reality.

What a shallow thing to be proud of – not wearing the same freebie designer dress twice! Ugh! She should be ashamed of herself for setting such a ridiculous example to the young girls that look up to her (yes, sadly they do because of The Hills). I am so glad that show is over — and hopefully these girls’ careers will be too (Conrad, Heidi, Brody, Audrina, etc). They all set a terribly greedy, selfish example for young people, who think they can live up to these fake celebrity standards while driving parents virtually bankrupt! You want to know why your kids are SPOILED America — just watch an episode of The Hills!

Wow – people must be snarky today because it’s Monday or something. She clearly states that they “were never allowed to repeat outfits on camera”. She never says that this is something that she does in her personal life. And for all of you that think that this series is so horrible and sets bad examples for kids then don’t let your kids watch it. Be a parent and put your foot down. And yes, whether you like her or not she is considered a style icon for teenagers.

Interesting to hear, and that sucks, but it’s not surprising to hear at all!

do this people have to throw that at us regular peoples face … do they ever think of the poor kids that barely have anything to wear?

For all the people saying bad things about Audrina (“who is this person? Must be nice to be spoiled rotten”; “what will she do for a living now that her fake show is over”; “would love to see her work in REAL reality”): If you have such a negative opinion about her then why are you even reading an article about her? Seems to me that you are interested!

Seriously, people all over the world are struggling and actually WORK HARD…these so called reality divas get everything and more handed to them. They should donate time and money to those in need, instead of buying a Chanel Surfboard for decoration! Please! :(
